This is awsome, and definitely worth the hi res look. Thanks for posting this. Though, I tend to think of this as the look of Cthulhu's gatekeeper rather than himself.
this is how i imagine the image on his gate. He, is ... more slippery.
I recently stole some H.P. Lovecraft lines for a story I'm working on. Hence my cthulhu search and this find.

its a great peice, no doubt. but it doesnt look anything like how i envisioned cthulhu as. but, we all have our onw interpretations of lovecraftian lore... really nice, the fire is a very interesting element, since cthulhu resides in a sunken city...
