Description
Hunter is apparently cheerful at the idea of eating chinese takeout. There's a bit of snow, as well. We had snow today in Charlottetown. It was crazy, man.Done with watercolour and ink. I like her pants, for some reason.

the blue shading is really interesting, by watching the thumbnail I was under the mistaken impression that there is something radiating light in that box of noodles.... and now that I think about it, with all the stuff they put in, I wouldn't find it all that shoking if I found such a thing in my chinese takeout....
Great watercolour skills, as always! :bows:

We should all be happy for takeout. I dig some chinese food like SHAZAAM. Or something equally diggable? Whatever your preference. ; ) But what a great pose. It's very snapshot feeling. Or like when fashion photographers want us to think its snapshot feeling. *laughs* But the colors all toned down like, I really love that. Reminds me of the Arthur Rackham print I just bought for that same reason. (And hell, it's Rackham. To not ogle is a sin.) Can't wait for snow here, though...

Really loving this out of your recent work. You and watercolors are such a happy combination, but it's also a really compelling piece as far as composition and character expression.
Two thumbs up

Thank-you so much for posting this! I love watercolor and have been trying to teach myself how to use it lately, and this is very inspiring. Yes, I love the pants too. =^_^= I especially like how you used grey-ish/blue-ish shading on her skin. That looks amazingly realistic, and it blends so well.
Thanks for the inspiration! *hugs*

Does chinese food EVER come in those neat little boxes? I sure haven't seen them! Nor paper bags! But that was just a little outside observation, as always I LOVE this piece. You take such simple little daily actions and turn them into works of art, I really admire that. I love the simplicity of the bricks, they look like bricks without doing the whole "LOOK AT ME IM A BRICK"..thing. If you get what i mean. Great stuff.

I am totally digging on her pants, too, Faith. The colors are just so perfectly blended and they look so worn and faded. I want a pair just like them. *sniffs* And I wish my ass looked that good in them, too. :0
What a tough chick, chillin' outside in barely nothin' on top. You are so rockin', m'dear. And I loves me some apostrophes!

Ah yes, the old 'worn and faded' palette ... which is totally deliberate and not because I have only six watercolours.

One day, you must teach me how to do that. Do you know if it's possible to get that blendy sort of love with markers?
*tugs on pants-leg*

I'd say yeah. Just work fast and work wet-on-wet (shading small areas while the marker layer is wet), and they blend well. Also depends on what kind of paper you use. I've never used marker paper before... don't know how that handles.

Eh...neither have I. I hear marker paper is hard to blend on -- like bristol. I prefer sketchbook paper. XD It bleeds, but it's much more controllable than printer paper. And it's so vibrant and lush. Mmm. Lushious.

Haven't seen watercolors from you in a while. Still kicking ass, I see.
I love the building; it's detailed enough to make it more than an anonymous block behind the figure, but at the same time, it doesn't take the focus off of Hunter.
But isn't she cold in that tank top?

Probably. I love those nonsensical moments when Lara Croft dives into arctic water in .... a tank top and short shorts.

Hehheh looks like a giant jismed all over the place. I like your watercolour stuff a whole lot, it has a nice refined quality without losing spontaneity and vitality. I think it looks a whole lot better than the sketchy ink you use a lot (the kind that looks like it's painted with a dry brush). I'm still kinda hoping you'll do a watercolour comic one day, however masochistic it would be
The colouring is simply great, especially on the pants and the paper bag, nice sense of form there. I'm a little confused by the shadow cast by Hunter on the door though, where is the light coming from?

Yeah, I considered doing the Sachs comic in watercolour for about 2.5 seconds; then I regained my sanity. *shrug* It's just too much work for an online comic.
The light is everywhere! ... uh, I dunno.... *shifty eyes*
