Description
I was asked to submit artwork for an art show done in conjuction with the Atlantic Film Festival (link: [link] ) in September. The art show will be at the Argyle Fine Art Gallery on September 22nd, and this piece should be for sale.The theme of the show is "Urban Myths and Legends." I wasn't that interested in stories about hooks for hands or calls coming from inside the house, so illustrated the computer urban legend "Does Not Compute," or the idea that a computer/artificial being will self-destruct when considering emotions or paradoxes.
Consider this a companion piece to another robot-with-human-face drawing I did a while back.

I love the shading, it's really clear how shiny and metallic everything is. The blacked-out foreground objects are a really nice framing device too.

I love this. It reminds me of a sci-fi movie I saw one time. And a story my friend had written where a robot had fallen in love with a human. So romantic, cute, and hilarious. But anyway, I love the drawing. It's just so.. cute.

Gorgeous! It reminds me of the song 'Industrial Love' by VNV Nation. I love how it's mostly monochromatic, which makes the red in the eyes and heart really stand out well!

The picture reminds me of Fritz Lang's Metropolis. The concept/story behind it reminds me of Asimov's short stories.

That is an interesting expression, I'm not quite sure what to make of it. It feels like it is almost a smile, but maybe that is just the angle of the face which makes the upper lip look like we're seeing it from below. I can't really tell for sure, but it is a powerful expression whatever it is trying to convey.
