Some notes and a few errors I noticed skimming back through:

You can loop select by faces too, naturally.

Boolean = boole, that's what you get when you mix coding and modeling into the same quarter.

And an extended note about what I said about booles, they don't technically 'cut a hole' but rather takes the postive shape from the child and makes it a negative shape within the parent. You can see it made a cylinder shape within it, the sphere is actually paper thin and is not filled with any 'material', so the insides you're seeing of the boole is just the cylinder's insides, this is an important thing to note when it comes to texturing among other things.

I try to avoid booles in general.

aw crap, going over the rest of the video the next morning I realized the camera was crapping out and stalling up the mouse all the time. I think my screengrab program is to blame, since it's more than a little hard to control. If anyone has suggestions for PC screengrab-to-webcam type programs I'm all ears.
