I’m back to the realm of the CGI!!! Woots! XDAnd not only that, but also first works with my laptop (so, if the colors seem a bit off, that’s because of my screen)
Well, the pic was inspired by Tori Amos’ song, Past the Mission; she doesn’t say explicitly that she’s singing about Jesus and Magdalena, but you can put 2 and 2 together on your own. All of “Magda”’s speech was made up, and part of “Tori”’s was taken from the lyrics of the song.
The pic is just fantasy, a “what if”, if you want. I just thought that if Jesus is reborn, Magdalena would come too with him, but of course, this new version of her would be more active, more in charge of the situation, etc, and of course, would be protecting Jesus all the time, especially from those crazy people who want to put him on a cross to get their Christ back “shakes head”
I just think that Jesus would like a hippie look or something.
Oh, and if you was expecting a blond, blue eyed guy, then I recommend you stop watching Hollywood movies! Seriously, you’d think they’d research the type of people living in a DESERT to get their skin, eye, hair color right “shakeshead”. Just because people is used to having the ripoff of Zeus’ portrait as if it were Jesus that doesn’t mean that’s the right version.
This is not an attack against organized religion, ok? I’m just pointing out some things that are kind funny, actually.

Anyone who rants about your picture obviously neither has any vestige of a sense of humor, or the ability to appreciate fine art.
Oh, yeah, and they've also got zealot-level hair triggers to anything that might be remotely considered even slightly offensive.
What I'm saying is that I'm both Catholic and I've grown up in a conservative family, and I love this picture! He's just like what I would imagine a modern-day Jesus to be like--the smile and mannerisms put a light in my heart and just warm me up.
I have one question, though: is Magda supposed to be a person from the modern era, or is she a ressurected person from Jesus' era?
The name Magdalena is kind of interesting, though there's actually nothing wrong if it's what I suspect.

i can imagine if jesus cam back to life, he'd live somewhere more remote...not advertise himself so much..."just think of what heppened last time!" and yeah...FINALLY someone gets it wright...the guy lived in the dessert...he'd obviously have been dark skinned...and he looks awsome how you drew him...happy, goofy, and just a tad bit scatterbrained...good thing magda's there to keep him outta trouble (woo...long comment)

but i dont think that the church is a fiasco, you have to know it better, know how a normal church works (one of those down the block)
im crhistian catholic and the church i go is a very cool place, everyone is happy and they are willing to help, pretty much what Jesus wants

Ok, i like this, i REALLY like this, your style is positivlie awsome, you also put up really good point that if Jesus would ever come back then he would need a new tactic, the world has changed greatly after all.
I also really like the "hippie" style you gave him, and that smille he has can melt a whole bleeding iceberg, and i really like the "Magdalena" girl and how overprotective she is of him.

Man, he was a JEW that lived in the friggin' sun!! Glad you didn't draw that damn European version of him. Look at the people that live there today and everyone should KNOW that wasn't blonde and totting blue eyes.
And FYI, much of the stereotypes of Christianity came about due to the Roman empire. One of the emperors tried using the religion as a leverage to gain power. So, instead of rebuilding temples and such, they just renamed old Roman Gods into things like "Saint Peter" and so on. This was a major start in what is known as the Roman Catholic Church.
