Description so there are these photographers named mike and doug starn. everytime i see their work i am belittled and jawdropped time and time again. i made this print a year or two ago in an attempt to mimic their work and never completed it. so here it is, my own little twist on a starn masterpiece. it's a 20"x24" print of a tree from a 6x7 medium format neg (ilford delta 100 i believe) printed on ortho film and mounted between to sheets of plexiglass (the backone spraypainted and distressed for a light diffusing opaque texture) mounted to a wooden box backlit by rope lighting. enjoy if you will

Awesome.. Colour tone, the mood, is very interesting. This photo makes me wanna listen to The Tale of Dusty and Pistol Pete my the smashing pumpkins, and that is a very good thing.

Beautiful work mate - You've got some skills

I couldn’t not even begin to make something like this... I just don’t have that sort of creativity in me. I certainly know something nice when I see it, and this is NICEEE!!

Cheers

Wow. This is absolutely wonderful. The warmth and the glow... the perfectly 'full' composition... the beauty of nature. I love it.

thanks, im glad you like it. funny you described it as full. when i made this i thought you would not be able to see the border in the dark, but it still glows showing the crop due to the border. i think im going to paint that black or block it somehow so it's not visible.
