Description
Formally McDonnell Douglas now Boeing Defense, Space & Security since the defunction and take over of McDonnell Douglas the F/A-18E and F/A-18F Super Hornets currently serve the US Navy on their Aircraft Carriers, this should be exposed by the latch on the nose set landing gear with the arm that connects it to the catapult.

That aside this is the F/A-18F twin seater, the F/A-18E is the single seater.

Note the differences from this Super Hornet compared to the earlier Hornet, the oringal F/A-18 Hornet has oval Engine Intakes, the Super Hornet has rectangular Intakes as depicted here, difference in size and wingspan, the original Hornet is 56ft and the Super Hornet is 4 ft longer at 60ft, the original Hornet has a 40ft wingspan where as the Super Hornet has a 44ft wingspan.

Weapons and countermeasures/targeting sensors include the following below.

1 Vulcan Cannon with 578 rounds and 11 weapon pylons in total

Air-to-Air Missiles include the AIM-9 Sidewinder, AIM-120 AMRAAM and AIM-7 Sparrow.

Air-to-Surface Missiles include AGM-65 Maverick
Standoff Land Attack Missile (SLAM-ER), AGM-88 HARM Anti Radiation Missile, AGM-154 Joint Standoff Weapon (JSOW)

AGM-84 Harpoon is the Anti-Ship Missile of choice.

Bombs include the JDAM Precision-Guided Munition (PGMs), Paveway series of Laser Guided Bombs, Mk 80 series of Unguided Iron Bombs, CBU-87 cluster, CBU-78 Gator, CBU-97, Mk 20 Rockeye II

Countermeasure and targeting sensors include the SUU-42A/A Flares/Infrared decoys dispenser pod and chaff pod, Electronic countermeasures (ECM) pod and AN/ASQ-228 ATFLIR Targeting pods.

Additional Fuel Tanks include the 330 US gallon (1,200 L) Sargent Fletcher and 480 US gal (1,800 L) Tank.
