Description
Here's an old pic that I did for Botcon way back, but I still like it. I drew this one back in the old 3H days when we were still figuring out the color scheme for the 2001 Arcee spider toy. This drawing helped us plan the color scheme. Later on it was colored by Blond, and was meant to eventually be used in an Arcee TF universe entry. That never happened, but here's the shot for TF fans to check out.

My first Botcon and arguably the best year of Convention Exclusives. Love this figure and the color scheme. The voice box was an added bonus.
As for this picture. Great job Dan. I remember sitting and reading Wreckers #1 over and over and over because of the great art in it. Keep it real man.

Thanks Drew. Botcon 2001 was my first year working on the 'Con staff on the creative end with the comic, and helping out with the toy exclusives. Pitching the idea of doing Tigatron, working on his color scheme and the Primevil Dawn story details behind the toy's comic book origin, and seeing it all actually get made was a real thrill. It's still one of the greatest highlighs of working on the 'Con stuff, and remains my fav. figure that I've worked on. I'm really happy with the toy/packaging on Arcee as well, of course. She turned out pretty great, esp. in those days when an actual Arcee toy was a big novelty.

Oh I didn't realize all that. Cool cool. Yeah man I enjoyed the comic in the sense that there was this ability to look at panels and think 'Is this a reference to something' like Primal Prime's Ultra Magnus-like pose early on where he points and the view in below eye level. Also I'm a big Hot Rod fan so that helped me to enjoy it. But yeah I loved the idea of using repaints and toys that did exist and giving them these (huge) parts in the story of Beast Wars.
Yeah Arcee was a novelty then and we still have not seen a stateside release of the Metals Ravage mold so that Tigatron is truly an exclusive. I loved it.

Very nice. I always thought that mold was such an odd choice for Arcee, but the colors are good at least.
