My first (and most likely only) entry for bananamantis 's myo jumoh contest! I've been working on an image that shows her using magic for a while, but I've been having some trouble so I decided to post what I've done for now in case I forget xvx;

Personality:
Ciri is a collected individual with a tendency to analyse everything, from jumoh, to magic, to books. She deeply immerses herself in her work, to the point where she goes for days with little to no social interaction. As a result, she has only a handful of close friends - though, this is also due to the fact that she acts more professional than friendly with strangers. Ciri's content most of the time, but errors in her theory and interruptions with her research can put a severe damper on her mood. She's also concerned when others ask about the spirit she bonded with and blows this question off whenever she can.

About:
Like most young jumoh, Ciri spent a majority of her childhood in meditation. She spent a lot of time - perhaps too much time - looking into the spirit realm, only returning to her world for food and rest. During this period she communicated with many spirits, hoping to find one which she might bond with - though, if you were to ask her what type of spirit she'd had in mind, her answer would not be remotely similar to the one she chose.

When she was first approached by the black spirit, Ciri was only 6 years old and deeply afraid; she had never encountered or befriended a spirit like this one. She immediately snapped out of her meditative state to escape. When she told her parents about its monstrous appearance - dark, with a wide stretched grin, elongated limbs, and donning a ragged cloth - they warned her not to interact with it, as it was undoubtedly malicious. For several days after, Ciri did not enter the spirit realm.

When she finally mustered enough courage to return, she found herself confronted by the same spirit. She remained alert, her parents' warning in the back of her mind, but was still young and very curious towards its intentions. When she questioned them, the spirit told her that it hadn't interacted with any outsiders for a while and she just happened to be the first one it saw. When she asked what type of spirit it was, it wasn't able to answer and simply shrugged. Ciri was a bit sceptical, but also interested by the black spirit and how unusual it looked. Oddly enough, she went on to befriend it and they developed a very close friendship over the years. Since it did not have a name, she referred to it as "Spirit".

Ciri never learned that Spirit had originally intended to possess her forcefully and escape from the spirit realm - that is, until they bonded when she was 21 years old. Needless to say she was angered by this, but eventually forgave it as she knew the attachment it formed to her had washed that idea away. She still isn't certain what type of spirit it is, but suspects it may be one of knowledge; since bonding, she has found herself able to understand and create complex magic runes. For this reason, she currently works as an arcanist at an academic institute.
