Gotta love the bokeh in this - but how did you get it at f5.6? It looks great! The overall dreamy feeling is sweet although in my eyes the key(s) in focus could be sharper - just to isolate them from the background a bit more. Also, the black keys sort of steal the show. They are much more visible than the white keys in focus.I actually had to get used to the photo before I even noticed the white keys. And since the black keys are on the far side of the photo, it takes a while to "find" them as well. What I'm trying to say is that the blur seems to be the main part of the image. If that was you intention then it's fine. And as I look at the photo more and more I get more and more used to the composition. I also like the quality of the pic very much.

Thank you so much for this! I'm no professional but I think it's because it's a macro lens that it creates bokeh like this. It wasn't that close to the piano. I get what you're saying and actually I'm finding it troublesome to create any picture with enough sharpness. I should stop using automatic options on my camera, that would be a good start. And yes, I think the white keys could have been brighter. But thanks!

I've never used a macro lens so I don't know but it's probably that, yes. Β
Definitely try setting it up yourself! Maybe the camera sets the aperture too large and that may take away from the sharpness.

I'm assuming your intention was to make this an abstract art piece. I suppose it would appeal to music enthusiasts in general or piano enthusiasts specifically. Your method of post-processing is interesting, but the Christmas-by-way-of-peach-festival colour scheme seems a bit too muddled for my taste. I tend to feel if you're going to play with pastels, you should limit the entire scheme to pastels. Here, the one or two areas of saturated colour tend to pull my eyes away from the focal plane and the single key you've isolated.

Thanks for your time on this!
I understand what you're saying, and this is what I initially felt about the key when I took the picture. Actually, this is how the colours were in the original picture, pastel-like. But I will take on what you have to say, so thanks!

I already had this in my faves but saw you were looking for comments in the forum.
I love the depth of field and colors in this, it's so dreamy and soft. Really beautiful

I won't guess which note it is because I don't play the piano
but I can surely tell about the picturE as a meaningful whole
I love the warm tonation and soft colours
to be honest I have never seen a piano in such perspective beforehand...
the warm tonation together with the delicate blurring is somethingΒ
which catches the eye and makes one look into this picture for a few moments.
It's just something which one can't simply pass being indifferent.
Actually the only thing i dislike about the picture is... the title You've chosen xD
I believe that the image is not in a ghostly mood, not at all...
at least in my eyes
All in all, this is a piece of art, honestly

Thank you so much for this. I'm so glad you like my art.
And yea you're right about the title, but I chose the word ghostly because the note looks like it's being played on its own. Haha maybe I'll think of a better name.
