Description
Man, this one took a while. I'm not 100% happy with it but I'm getting tired of tweaking it and re-rendering it, so here it is. I may redo it at some point in the future when I'm better at this.At any rate I learned a lot on this one. It started easily enough; I found the free SF-y containment field, loaded it, stuck Duster in it, went, "Cool!" and started constructing a scene around that. Little did I know that I would end up pushing the boundaries of what I currently know how to do in DAZ Studio. I figured out a lot more about "emissives", which are basically objects that can emit light--such as the computer screens, the diodes and indicator lights, the glowing base of the containment unit, and the containment field itself.
Once I figured out how to make the computer screens glow properly I then wanted to customize them (as ya do). Just so you understand how obsessive I can get, the text box pointing to wireframe Duster's... er... chest in the right-most screen contains her vital signs. Yeah. I researched vital signs just so I could add some "authentic" text to that screen that isn't even legible. I'm either really committed to a high level of realism or I should simply be committed.
The henchmen are wearing the same outfit, configured differently, that I tried on Black Phantom recently ; many of you thought that looked too shiny (more like BDSM-dungeon latex or rubber than superhero spandex) so I applied myself to figuring out how to dial that way down for these guys' outfits. Thanks to everyone who gave feedback, whatever form it took.
I was going to put a more modern lab coat on the evil scientist at left but I don't have one in my DAZ Studio content collection. What I do have is a cartoon-y mad scientist lab coat that looks like it belongs in a Frankenstein movie. So I went with that. It's all based on comic books so why not go over the top.
At any rate I like this situation a lot and there's more I could do with it. So I may revisit this in future, maybe even extend it out into a story.
EDIT: The future is now: NEXT
Another EDIT: I added some text to the image to make it a proper splash/title page.

Is that yellow bar passing into one ear and out the other? I thought that only worked with blondes!

Amazing work as usual. The details are incredible. The stasis tube, the henchmen, the screen monitoring Dusters vitals mirroring her position in the tube, are all examples of the effort you put into these pics. Thanks for you efforts.

it looks really so amazing! No idea why you are not 100% happy with it.
I love that tube! Mad science lab peril is one of my favorite scenes for sure and the pose and lighting inside the stasis/scan tube looks really awesome.
Very nice work with the displays showing Duster status and analysis.
The minions costumes are very nice too.

hahahaha nice word
The obsession for perfection is a common trait of all great artists that only becomes worst as they work more, maybe except the extremely narcissist ones.
So i would say that is a great sign!

I think it works pretty good as it is, she looks great in there too. And of course henchmen have to have matching costumes

I think it's mainly a cost-cutting measure on the criminal mastermind's part. Buying in bulk is always cheaper.

Ooh!
Who knows what exciting experiments Duster may undergo?

Heh heh heh... I may have to make this into a series just to find out.

Thanks, I think it was just the time and effort and tweaks and many accompanying false starts that got to me. I tend to like my work better once I have a little distance from it.

Well if I turn this into a series she's unconscious at this point. But that won't last long...

Well the time spent does show if it is any consolation. With so many light sources this must have taken a while to render

Yeah and I could have left it rendering a lot longer just to fill in more little spots. Would have taken hours and hours though. Might have to wait until I have a better graphics card.

so much to love here--the typical "Heroine in a tube" the mad scientist looking just right, the hench goons and matching Unis.... Right on target

That's a really good futuristic looking peril scene The containment field and tube looks great, I like that kind of suspended-in-the-air restraint. I like how the field is suspending Duster's hair
The various scanners on the left, along with the doctor, make it all very high tech and sinister. You're getting good at adding background details which add a lot to the image's atmosphere That's probably the biggest thing I envy with 3D art, drawing a background like this would take forever.

It seemed to take forever in Studio as well. In future though it should go faster now that I know how to do it.
