I don't think I have ever critiqued a deviation before, but there is a first time for everything. Since you did request a critique and this image caught my attention, I decided it was time to write one.
This is a pretty epic battle you have going here. The expressions show the struggle between both fighters, especially the upper hand that Beta has on Pulsar. The street scene in the background gives it that extra bit of detail that helps the audience become more immersed in the battle.
In fact, I really only have one very minor criticism. The dust rising from the crater, and maybe the crater itself needed just a little bit more work. They look kind of flat and out slightly out of place. The dust should have a more, I guess, movement, like it exploded from where the crater is now.
Aside from that one minor problem, the image has a wonderful look to it. The characters look great, the poses/expressions are excellent, and the choice for the setting is very appropriate for an epic superhero battle.

I really like how you added a real life image to this artwork. It tends to bring out the action. The way the two girls are fighting right now do show some kind of originality although the technique does need some kind if improvement. Despite the improvements needed for this art, it has a very strong impact to its audience not to mention Pulsar's in some kind of peril. I hope she gets help in some way.
The more I look at your art, the more attractive I am to Pulsar Pureheart. I honestly have to admit she's just as awesome as other OCs that I have seen, including my own Princess Fighter characters. I hope this project you're doing turns out to be a great game or TV show or whatever. Great job.

.........do more !.........sparring...different "holds" the duels with your characters do not have
to be really violent

I normally find it jarring when you but animated characters with a real background, but it seems to work well here. It makes the foreground characters stand out and look even more dramatic and colorful!

i like the pose, and their expressions make it intense : ) only thing i see a bit off is Pulsar's right arm, it seems like it should be doing something else, like she could be using it instead of holding out there strangely straight. I like the picture a lot!
