Description
Boy, this was fun. After seeing ~RiyoAlt 's livestream yesterday, I couldn't resist doing one myself. So here's the result: Fairy Tail's Millianna, engulfed in thick spider silk.I was experimenting with my webbing style a bit. I must say I love how thick and inpenetrable the silk looks, but in the end it kinda lacks detail. I guess I'll keep experimenting.
Also this was supposed to be a simple pic, but...yeah. I had so much space I quickly painted the cave. Then the cave looked too empty, so I added the drider. And then someone suggested more victims in the background...
Anyway, enjoy!

Millianna makes a lovely cocooned "Damsel in Distress" Cat Woman!!! Is that Erza in the corner!?!? Love the tightness of the cocoons and the web gags!! Whose cocoon is that up to the right? If I could rescue them, I so would!!!

Wouldn't Arania Web be a better character to use than a spider since she actually fights with web magic?

You have a point, but for whatever reason I didn't think of her when drawing this...^^

Thanks. I like to imagine Millianna turning things to the opposite with her rope magic once she gets out of there.
You really love Millianna, huh? I think I might draw more of her in the future, maybe as a captor as well - The more I look at her the more I start to like her. Maybe she'll even show up on my non-fetish account.

Woah, that would be awesome *w*
And yes, I love her that's awkard and I will die alone.
Millie has a great potential, the problem is that she is always on the wrong team but i would love to see your drawings, not only of her, all of them

I gotta say that your particular version of a spider web definitely "sticks" with me. I like how you made it look... many make spider webs just looks like thin strands, but yours looks more glue-ish which in my opinion looks awesome and really restrictive.
Looooooooove it.

Nice to see that I've inspired someone P:
I'll be honest, I'm not too fond of the background. It is, however, because I like what you did with the webs and the character; the background just doesn't feel cohesive with the job that you've done with that. I'm really liking how you handled Millianna's head--face, hair, and all.
Also, don't worry about detail. The one thing I've learned is that intricate detail is secondary, and often times even unnecessary. Get the fundamentals first, and your work will appear more solid as a whole. Learning to control detail to get the contrast you want is just one part of that.
Honestly, I like the way you approached the webbing, even with the lack of detail. It might be more minimal than you would have wanted, but I think it is an effective rendition that works with your style.
All in all, background aside I think this is a pretty solid piece. The background probably just needs more polish and a bit of a perspective check. Good job!

Thanks for the feedback.
The problem with the background I think is that it's so sloppily done AND takes up that much space. Makes for a deadly combination. Overall I got carried away with it and did a lazy job in the end.
As for the grade of detail on the webbing, I'll just play around. While I really like how the thickness turned out, but to me it still looks too much like one piece of cloth - I'd like to find some way to portrait that it's in fact layers and threads of silk, yet forming some sort of unity.
Btw, what do you think about her proportions and pose? Granted there's not much to see under the webs, but I'd like to know if there's anything that feels wrong.

On the topic of the webs, you might be interested in looking at 's web artworks. They might be closer to what you are looking for.

Proportions are actually looking pretty good. Same for the pose. There really isn't much to say there.
I'd really like to say again that I do like the way you approached the webbing. It feels cohesive to your style in a way that I think more detail would actually hurt your artwork.

Many nice things in this picture. The shading, the shadows in the cavern, and of course all of that sticky and enveloping silk around Millianna.
Eager to see where you go from here!

Now she knows how it feels to be all bound up ;3
Great work. I popped in sometimes to take a look at the progress, but never commented or anything, so sorry about that.
I like the touch of having Erza in the corner, and I'll just imagine it's Lucy hanging from the ceiling Overall a very good piece.

Nyaa. Millianna looks great and appears to be not liking being on the receiving end of bondage. I love the shading and lighting for this pic. Look at that erza is in the background looking at her old childhood friend in distress while she is in a bit of trouble.
