Read that the USAF is looking for replacement by 2020. Where else can you find an aircraft that could lose a wing, a tail, and an engine, and still limp home.

Great shot. Miss these babies. I worked on these for most of the twelve years I was in the Air Force. I did pretty much everything on these except fly. They were the easiest planes I had worked on. Thanks for bringing back the memories!

Funny how they don't design and aircraft for survivability anymore, and make it good for a mechanic to take care of. IIRC, the A-4 Skyhawk was similar in serivcibility.

Thunderbolt. The pilot get a little testy when one calls it a warthog. If you've ever seen one make a low pass and light up a ridge with that cannon, it looks like they almost stand still in the sky.
