Description
This is something I made last night following one of Bobby Chiu's tutorial videos on digital painting. It started out as a little doodle. I think it turned out pretty good. Not nearly as good as Bobby's stuff, but you know...Related content

Yeah, I know.... I just used the term "dino" loosely.

Pretty cool picture. I've always wanted to go to Loch Ness in Scotland to see the creature.

Yeah, I almost put in a fishing hook with a worm on the end instead of the school of fish and called it "loch ness"....

Awesome work! But technically plesiosaurs aren't dinosaurs. They're from a separate order of reptiles. But still, you've done really well on this pic!

Yeah I know. They belonged to a group of marine reptiles that have all gone extinct... Unless they find one hiding somewhere.

Ever heard of the Loch Ness Monster?

Hahahaaaa...yeah. I just wonder, isn't it pretty cold in Loch Ness? How would a reptile fair in such cold water? I mean, I understand some reptiles live in colder climates, but generally have to bask to capture energy from the sun...and go dormant when the weather gets too cold.

Well, most reptiles from its time were warm blooded. If plesiosaures were warm blooded like the dinosaurs were, they might be a bit more tolerant of the cold water in the Loch Ness.

Really!? I didn't know that, that awesome! That would have enabled them to live in colder deeper waters and open ocean, and still have the agility to take down prey. That makes a lot of sense.
I actually just googled it, they found isotopes in the bones that suggest it. Sounds good.
Makes Nessie all the more plausible!

I've also heard that there have been reptorts of surviving pterosaurs.

Well, if the Dinosaurs were warm blooded, why not other reptillian mega fauna like pterosaurs and the large marine reptiles like plesiosaurs, icthyosaurs and mosasaurs?

It still is very nice work. I like how you blurred the fish.

Thanks! I actually spent quite a bit of time on those little fish, and then ultimately they looked better blurred.
