So they have finger-like extensions that grow some kind of plates off them? I think that was the explanation for the fliers on Pandora. A cool, creative idea.

Beautiful. I love the detail you put into the wings to make them look delicate and membranous. They look like they might be of a substantial, flexible material like skin, but one cannot help but think if you touched its wings, the color would be brushed away like dust, like a butterfly's wings.
