Description Made this for the #BarlowesRealm contest. I tried to incorporate a handful of Barlowe's structural/textural motifs into the work. This is also based heavily on Dunkleosteus.

Nice, it would definately fit in Barlowe's Hell. Im also rather found of the Dunkleosteus, I used its head for one of my monsters as well. It has such a great skull!

Thanks! Yea, it's probably one of the most terrifying vertebrate faces.

Yeah no kidding, when you look at that skull you ARE seeing its face!

I really like the dunkleosteus teeth. It does a very good job of suggesting something old and sub-terranean.

Looks like a cross between an anglerfish, a trilobite (well, the body), mabye a little bit of Dunkleosteus, and a fireplace. I LOVE IT!!

Thanks! It was fun to mix a bunch of prehistoric critters together...and then set them on fire

This made my jaw drop! Simply the best I have ever seen of demonic fish, beautifully done with Barlowe's touch to it. It's one of my most favorite illustration of fish!!!!

That is absolutely amazing David! You did a superb job on the texture and the detail, but that's nothing new!

HOLY CRAP!! Dinichthys meets Coelacanth meets Helicoprion meets...PREDATOR!! IN THE LAVA!!!!
It's like a 10-year-old paleo-enthusiast's wet dream!

Hey, is s/he flying through the air or burrowing through some subterranean substrate?

It definitely has a demonic Barlowe feel to it, especially in the handling of the surface textures!
