Description Digital, Corel Painter

This one was made very quickly and more as an experiment. What I like about it is the overall feeling and atmosphere that comes from the colors and the composition.

Love it.  The colors, the atmosphere, especially - the vague idea of foggy lights in the background... and the grassy detail.  Wonderful.

I'm really impressed! It sticks out some compared to your other works, too. I would never have guessed you made it very quickly...

I like the added touch of the illuminated pair of moths in this piece with further globules of light in the background.

Hopefully you expand on this idea / concept and conduct a more indepth or fleshed out painting of this "experiment" as it does have a lot of promise to it Daniel.

Haha... Thanx! About expanding on this concept, I think that it's because I worked fast and loose that it ended up having the specific qualities that makes it good. If I set out to make something more ambitious and polished I'll probably end up with something less interesting. Though, I do believe that I could try to work more fearless like this in order to further develop my skills.

I think that you are indeed correct with your insight on this image.

I've noticed a couple of your comments on some of your newer works and that you weren't entirely satisfied with either the final results or the concept, but I am glad to see that you enjoyed doing this one.

As you well know, sometimes an artist / writer / sculptor / even a run of the mill everyday type of person will encounter the "blahs" or have a spate in which they don't feel enthusiastic about what they do or what makes them happy, but if they are cognizant enough of how they feel (and the possible sources of that creative block) they can find other avenues in which to keep that flame of creativity alive. And sometimes, they realize that they had overlooked a possible / potential route or path that they didn't notice that they had available to them.

Good deal then Daniel.

Keep on creating and practicing ...

Well, thing is that I've spent alot of time on oilpaintings this last year and therefor I don't have as many pieces as I would like for my upcoming art-show. Because of this I'm rushing these acrylic pieces,of which some are less good than others. But I'm ok with it, because at the last show I had, most of the paintings that I sold were in the "less good"(according to me) category. Just because I don't like it, it doesn't mean that nobody else will.
Right now I actually have PLENTY of motivation and inspiration for painting, it's just that I don't have as much time as I'd like.
Thanx for the support and your kind words.

No problem Daniel ... good to hear that I was off the mark then with regard to the motivation / inspiration aspect of your painting efforts.

You weren't completely off the mark, because I did lack inspiration in the end when painting "Denial". It was mainly because I kinda messed it up to begin with and I was more eager to work on other pieces than to redo the whole thing.

Haha... Yeah, on that front I'm allright. Though I really can't wait to get back into my "studio" and finish up on a painting I've titled "Your place or mine?". But maybe you have seen it already if you visited my blog recently? Anyway, it's coming along nicely, and all I have left to do is the enjoyable part where you just tweak and polish. It's not a remarkable painting, but it's an interesting process.
You ever feel like you don't have enough time to properly pursue your passions?
