There is a story that seem to be somewhat like this. Is it based of it?

Yeah ... it is a Kingfisher.
What is so cool about them is that they can hover in mid air, then they dive bomb on a fish that they see swimming below them, and then gulp it down.
Go right back up to hovering in the air once again to dive bomb another fish.
They have them down here in Florida and I've watched them do their dive bombing runs. Pretty amazing to see. I believe that they sort of even "fly" underwater when chasing their prey.
What is really interesting about them is that they don't live in conventional nests like you'd see up in a tree. They build little caves with long passages to and from the main cave / dugout in the sides of damp earth or soil along a riverbank or body of water. The tunnels can go back 6, 8, 10 feet or more. Pretty amazing little bird.

Yeah ... very cool birds.
In Australia, I believe that the Kingfisher is called a "Kookaburra".

And finally, I promise, no more links or discussions about the Kingfisher.
Take care Daniel ...
Have a pleasant holiday and a joyful New Year.
