Edit Fixed a few things that were bugging me about this one, mostly her proportions! Thank you for all the critique I received.The Little Mermaid is without a doubt my favorite Disney movie
This is my first picture painted on my brand new COMPUTER plus my new Photoshop Elements 8.0!!! Definitely beats 3.0 that I was using before! I love love love my new computer and new photoshop ahhh

I love the eyes and the hair, and the tail looks amazing. I'm still puzzled by how nicely blended everything looks. Not to mention this seems to be your best piece regarding depth.

Gaaahhh I wish I had half the coloring skills you do. This is really beautiful, especially the highlights on her tail. Scales are so intimidating and you did a great job! <3
As for crits, I think maybe the hair is something to look out for when you're doing underwater work. Sometimes hair tends to fade into the water a bit. It looks almost like a gradient or something. Also lighting underwater is tricky, since light comes from almost everywhere when you're under da sea. But at the same time it obscures things and gives everything a greenish blue tint.
Overall though you captured her in a lovely midpoint between Disney and Semi-realism.

Yeah man the hair and the lighting were difficult. Especially the lighting. If I get around to editing it I might try to give it a more greenish tint like you pointed out

The concepts for the second Disney movies that they put out stink. The originals are amazing and the third ones(like Cinderella 3 and Little Mermaid 3) that they try are just as great as the first. But 2nd disney movies, they just suck. Fox and the Hound 2, you know? I never saw it, but Disney DEFINATELY should've left that title alone after the first one cuz in the first, I always cry when Todd's owner has to leave him in the forest forever... TT^TT I know they couldn't put that much emotion into a sequel.
