I love the way the girl looks so calm and serene, especially the way the hair, water, and satin just flow perfectly. Her face is glowing, and this is the way I want to-- ~knocks on wood~ --die; peacefully.

You have captured the essence of the song perfectly, showing how death, while a sensitive topic, can be so... beautiful. I mean, look at her lips; she's almost smiling.

I also like how the bright color of the red roses stand out, yet don't come off as an eyesore.

All in all, this is a beautiful piece of art.

This is beautiful. The colours caught my eye instantly. I love the texture of this piece! The colours were obviously chosen very wisely. They go together very well. One thing I specifically like is the roses. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" title=" (Smile)"/> I love how to ripples by the roses look so amazing. Otherwise, the lighting and shading are in the correct places (I'm pretty sure) and it's fascinating how you blended the woman right into the water instead of having solid black lines surround the girl itself and the water too.

I have to say that this is very much original. I like how you took a piece of the lyrics out of the song and made it into a fantastic masterpiece!

*RavenSetFree 's piece, "If I Die Young" is a striking image that immediately caught my eye for several reasons.

First-off, I want to touch on the emotional impact of the image. Without knowing the inspiration, there is a peacefulness to the image. The young woman's eyes are closed, her expression fairly neutral, but the raised eyebrows help give her a peaceful look. She isn't smiling, but she doesn't look the least bit sad. Knowing the inspiration, the peacefulness remains and that expression fits so well with the feelings I get from the song itself: just the slightest bit of sadness, but also a sort of calmness and certainty.

Her robes are almost ethereal as if she were part of the water she's beginning to sink into - overall a very beautiful image. Her hair and robes blend into and become part of the water, adding to the image a ghostly feeling.

The first thing to really draw my eye are the colors. They harmonize very well. Their softness lends to the peaceful feeling - a feeling easily attached to the shades of blue in the piece. Yellow is generally seen as more joyful, and blends beautifully with the water. The brighter, lighter yellow draws attention to the top of the image, but the image isn't top-heavy by any means. It's balanced out by the blue-greens at the bottom which are darker.

The roses break from the cooler blues and greens with their red, but they retain a cooler scheme and frame the figure very well. The break up the blues, greens, and yellows to keep them from becoming too monotonous without being too distracting from the main focus of the painting.

The folds of her robes help create a focal point around her arms, and I find my eyes guided to her peaceful face. The level of details is very nice - just enough to be interesting but not too much as to be distracting where it shouldn't be. The most contrast and detail are around her hands, chest, and face, keeping our attention in that area.

The composition is very good with the figure's head being toward the top, but still not being too heavy thanks to details like roses and billowing sleeves.

Over all, I can find very little to put down about this piece. I might say her forearms seem a little thick compared to the rest of her very slender figure, but it's nothing very distracting... and besides that, I admit my own grasp of human anatomy isn't nearly as good as this talented artist's!

This is a very relaxing painting that manages to retain a peaceful feeling around a floating figure in spite of the theme of the inspiration. The colors fit the theme of the painting well and it seems to be a very balanced image.

Very well-done, painterly, but not too painterly... I style I'm personally very fond of and pulled off well here.

This was the print I traded you for at San Japan 6. You picked up up my last Link print. I'm quite glad it went to you.
I wasted no time in pinning this to my wall. I love the way you use color and line in your work. Imma do my best to learn from you and make my own art better.
Oh, and the title... Yeah, that got me in mah heart place liek right thur. I love The Band Perry. I sung (poorly) to that CD on the road so much that the red lights got smart and just changed quickly whenever I was around.
Anyway, I gotta tell you this print was love at first sight. It reminded me somewhat of the Lady of the Water from Arthurian legend. I love the way you've done her face. So soft are her features (yoda voice)

This is completely stunning. I can't actually comment on the artistic techniques you used, but her face is so beautifully done, especially that peaceful look on her face and the tints of red in her hair. I found this after listening to the song, and this conveys the overall message of the song perfectly and if I look at this for too long, I literally start crying.
