Gmail only?
Is there any chance of POP and IMAP support? This is EXACTLY the program I've been looking for, but I use Outlook.com for my personal mail and my company uses an Exchange server with IMAP.

I was working to the new version that includes IMAP support, but this project are currently in standby.

Nice app, although I had to tell my antivirus to allow it because it was giving me the old '-antivirus program- knows nothing about this file; it could be unsafe' crap.

hmm... it looks neat. But... I'm already notified of new emails with Windows Live Mail (and I've quit using email addresses that I can't transfer to Outlook Express or Windows Live Mail), so it's pretty pointless for me to download it. ^_^"
How'd you make it? I wouldn't mind being able to make something like that sometime (an application, not an email alert thing), but I never really figured out how to make programs that work on a computer like that.

You're still getting notifications from Windows Live? They made me "update" mine, and it just merged it with Skype and now I can't get the notifications anymore -.-

Windows Live Mail, the email application. I did use Outlook Express for email, but that program messed up on me at one point, so I switched programs.
But, I'm still on MSN/Windows Live Messenger. For some reason, they haven't made me update yet, despite it being past the posted date. But, they're trying to trick me into switching over. Every time I wake up my computer after it falling to sleep, I get a pop-up asking if I want to upgrade it now. They'll probably eventually make it mandatory.
I never got email notifications from the messenger for my email addresses. For awhile, it did tell me I had one or two unread emails, and it was really annoying because I didn't know what it was talking about and couldn't find any way of finding out. Not long ago, my brother told me something about an online inbox they give people, and I went to look, and that's where those email things were. I never even knew about it, so it won't bother me if it's gone when switching to Skype.

Oooh, the application, ok. Yeah, they made me update my messenger; it wasn't an option :< That's strange that you didn't get email updates from messenger...I got a little popup in the corner of my screen every time I got an email. It would tell me the title and who it was from. Very handy! And now it's gone :/

AsjJohnson In reply to PirateLotus-Stock [2013-04-27 16:40:06 +0000 UTC]
Huh. Maybe there was some option that I just didn't set up or enable or something. But I just keep my email application open all the time, and when I get a new email the icon will change (and it'll make a sound, if I have my headphones on where I can hear it). It would be handy if it would tell me the subject and sender, though, since a lot of times I get excited about a new email and it ends up being junkmail. ^_^"
I think my brother was hoping that Skype would adopt some of the messenger's features, but it doesn't seem like they have. Did you try searching online for a way to get the email pop-ups on Skype? Maybe there's a way and it's just hidden or something. Though it's probably just hopeful thinking.

I kind of half-heartedly searched for a way to get email updates, but I think the problem is that I sign into Skype with a Skype username, instead of using my hotmail account. If I used the email to sign in, it might work differently...

And on Mac OS X, it comes already packed... Since 2007.
Anyhow, I admire your programming skills, which I sadly can not try on first hand.

Is it possible to indicate emails amount over the tray icon to avoid waste clicking all the time just to see if there are any emails?

Maybe in the next version will be possible, but I'm not sure.

Waaw!! thank you!
Btw, my Gmail has a two step verification account. So I need to fill in the application password. If someone has this issue, just redirect them to this site: [link] and this one for information: [link]

Love it. Very stable, and I like how light it is on system resources.
But is there any way I can add Opera as the browser to use when I click on a link to an e-mail?

Thank you
You can go to Preferences, and change the browser that you want to use.
