Description

This is my version of Drew Struzan's original cover art design of the sequel to the Back To The Future movie. Drew Struzan is an impeccable artist who has illustrated movie covers for countless films, many of them being box-office hits.

I have been a fan over the Back to the Future Trilogy and Michael J. Fox for nearly six years, and in this time, I have used my obsession and love for the trilogy as my subject matter for the developing of my art skills.

I hand-drew this illustration with a mechanical 0.5mm pencil. I then photocopied it, and then hand-coloured the drawing with Crayola coloured pencils, with the addition of stippled and scratched-off black sharpie marker.

The Back To The Future Trilogy is copyright Universal Studios, and are Robert Zemeckis' films.

Nice. Even thought I don't like Back to the Future Part 2 very much as 1 and 3, this is still very good.

I honestly don't know where you get the nerve to copyright a "copy" of  a poster that is itself copyrighted. Wow! Who knew?

I could tell that this person didn't draw this, they just got a picture of the internet and put a filter on it to make look like as if they had drawn it themselves

This is more representational of his style. At least he's not plagiarizing Drew's work, and more honestly represents his skill level.

Danita Sonser. I came across a photo of the toy portrait "Flux Capacitor" that came with the recent Blu-Ray "Back To The Future" Trilogy Pack on October 21, 2015 last year. This is the same date that Marty, Doc, and Jennifer traveled 30 years into the future to see themselves. They also, saw how Hill Valley, California looked 20 years from the year they traveled from. The future unbelievable I gotta check this out Doc. Powerlaces ALRIGHTTTT.

Incredible you say? Did you really look closely at the art? All he did was run another artist's art (Drew Struzan's) through a couple of Photoshop filters, and presented it as his own. This guy is trying to con everyone here with his "great" art, and you guys are all eating it up with a spoon! Don't be so gullible. What he did is reprehensible and the highest cardinal sin of the art world. In no known universe is it EVER OK to copy anther person's hard work and then claim it as your own. This is outright plagiarism. Having said this, copying other people's work for studying and learning purposes is of course an exception.

Hi there! Just so you know, I am a She. Also, this was done as a piece of Fanart as an homage to Drew Struzan and Back to the Future... which has been a huge influence on my life for nearly two decades.... The medium of this drawing is Crayon pencil crayon. It was handrawn in a duration of 30 hours over the course of four months while studying Fine Arts in University. Of course I am not copyrighting Back to the Future or Drew Struzan. I just watermarked my piece of Fanart. Thank you for your comments!

Hi Danita,

I understand your wanting to copy the art of someone you admire. It is what most of us artists do when we are starting out, and trying to find our individual styles. My main criticism was regarding you copyrighting the work. I know you've defended your position but in the end it s a copy of a copyrighted artwork. But you did do a good job in copying Drew's work, and I hope you learned a lot by doing it.

Best,

Dave

DanitaMarie. I'm watching "Back To The Future Part II" on CineMax cable. Its at the part where they are at the Hilldale neighborhood, in Hill Valley, California just before Doc, Jennifer, Marty, and Einstein head back to the present future in the alternate reality.

Are you familiar with BTTF Part Three? Marty McFly goes time traveling on my birthday... to September 02 1885. That is 102 years before I was born. [link]

ChrisKevinDeviant In reply to danita-sonser [2012-09-03 08:14:42 +0000 UTC]

Another thing DanitaMarie,

I have Back To The Future Part III on standard DVD, and Blu-Ray DVD and as you know, Part III picks up immediately after Part II when the delorean time machine is high by lightning and zapped 70 years backwards in time from November 5th, 1955 to September 2nd, 1885. On September 7th, 1885 was the day Doc Brown was shot in the back by Buford Tannen Biff Tannen's Great,Great grandfather. Doc's death Danita would effect his existance in the present future in 1985 100 years later in time. If he was killed innocently, like that in the late 19th century he would have never invented time travel in 1955 all of that would be erased and treated the same way as Marty McFly's erase from existance if he didn't get his parents back together. Him, Linda McFly his sister, and David McFly his brother would have never existed without Lorraine Baines, and George McFly becoming soulmates.

Thanks, for telling me this DanitaMarie I had no clue that you were born 102 years after the fictional storyline event of September 2nd, 1885.

Danita-Sonser yes angelette I am. Not counting September 2, 1885 to September 2, 1987 102 years before you were born, October 27th, 1985 is 100 years before Marty McFly, and Doc Brown were ever born. Doc however was probably, around during the 1930s or 1940s. September 2, 1885 I believe was the day Doc Brown wrote the letter to to his beloved, sweetheart Clara Clayton(Mary Steenburgen) who was suppose to go over the Clayton Ravine during, her accident when her horses were frightened by rattle snakes. When Doc Brown and Marty McFly intervened on that accident they altered history and that's Why Doc Brown regreted building the delorean time machine because, it messing up events of time. Another, reason DanitaMarie was when they allowed, Old Biff Tannen in the year of October 21st, 2015 he steals the Delorean time machine, and the Grey's Sports Almanac in order to gain illegal knowledge of sporting events that gave him access to great wealth, and allowed him to control almost half of Hill Valley, California in 1985 when the regular 1985 time period was switched with an altered version. The time period was seriously, chaotic. I'll leave it at that DanitaMarie too negative cutie.!!!

DanitaMarie. Drew Struzan's original cover art design of the Back To The Future sequel film in 1989 was beautiful, and authentic. I saw a replica of yours DanitaMarie and it looks just as original and good as Drew S's. You really need to be a professional artist. You are trully a gifted artistic talent DanitaMarie. I'm definitely, going to contact you one day in Los Angeles, California if you live there and have you represent myself. I posted a photo of myself DanitaMarie so you can see what I look like. I hope you like my photo. I'm really cute, sexy, and as you know I think I've become obsessed over you being your number # 1 fan.

You hand drew the illustration with a mechanical 0.5 mm pencil, then photocopied it, and then hand-coloured the drawing with Crayola coloured pencils. DanitaMarie you are one bad girl artist. YOUUUUUU GO GIRLLLLLLLL.!!!! There's no stopping DanitaMarie my bad girlfriend friend.!!!!

Like your other work, this is really good. I'm not quite sure if this one is quite on the same level as your Back to the Future Part III work, but... maybe I just like that one because it has the trademark flames in it. You've captured your original source very well, and that is a very great achievement indeed.

Thank you very much for the feedback! The BTTF Part III is definitely my favourite one that I have done as well. The cover I did for Part I embarrasses me because it is really awful. I used a different brand of coloured pencils that do not have the same colour intensity.
Thanks a bunch!

StevenMcFlyJr,

That was funny buddy. That is what you call improvising, and freestyling. Taking what you originally, heard in a movie and adding your own phrases with the phrases of the stars. Let's see if I can try something similar to make DanitaMarie smile and gush with laughter.
