If you change a custom box to have a black background with white text... when you save it and go back in to edit it, the text remains white, but the color of the background in the editing box is also white so you can't see your text unless you highlight it.
I would like to have my dark backgrounds with white text again as well. Basically recreate what I have currently.

Some complaints:
1. If you don't have a cover there's a HUGE empty spot on your profile.
2. Thumbnails for groups are much too large (miss all my cute pixel art icons).
3. Still can't display deviations next to each other in custom boxes. I'd like the ability to create custom boxes similar to the ones I already have on my profile currently, and to do that I believe all I need is the ability to display small thumbnails, and have those thumbnails display inline next to each other (at least three in row).

...I've been hearing some Stuff and Things and I'm really hoping splintered menus will remain to be a thing in eclipse. I like to monitor just my comments/replies/favorites activity when I post something like a commission journal instead of having to look in my inbox every time, so having them lumped all under one number with submissions and journals is incredibly hindering and straight up annoying.

The muted tags option is an excellent feature. Will be using it for certain.
Will also use the "move to Eclipse" option to save items from the folders I currently have in the old DA platform.
I found my badges on the "About Page" but do not know if they are featured anywhere else. Is there a way to find Llama Trades? I haven't been able to find the option in Eclipse.
The biggest issue I have, which isn't DA's fault by any means, is that my old MacBook Pro gets overwhelmed by all the data on any given page, which slows it down and, at times, causes the laptop to overheat. It would be most helpful if

I will add a bit of positivity into the sea of negative: I think you guys are doing a great job. I understand people's displeasure for Eclipse, and their opinions are just, but so far I think Eclipse is on its way to becoming a great facelift to dA! Change is difficult... but after being here for 13 years, and being logged in every single day over the course of this length, I can say I find it necessary and worthwhile.
Are there any plans to add Sta.sh Writer or something like it back in? Or to make it so when you view literature on Eclipse you have little toggles, like currently? The ones that add indents, invert colors, make the text bigger, etc? That's one of my biggest complaints at current now that my previous ones have been dealt with or are being dealt with. Reading lit on Eclipse is very straining at current as it automatically makes the text too big for me. I know you guys have plenty you're still going to implement and it takes time, I'm just curious!

problem with others being able to suggest tags (like on some other sites) is that you will get tags that isn't at all fitting to your art. Really the only thing that would work is if the rules say that some arts like fetish have to be tagged correctly or consequences.

If people donβt tag others should be able to. There is a point that if the original artist wonβt tag their stuff others should be able to in self defense. The original artist should be able to edit them, but only after they add at least one tag. Nothing should be tagless.

no. think of the following. You do some wonderful art. someone other is jealous and puts a fetish tag on it. now nearly nobody will see that art because of the tag.
The solution to that problem is that not tagged art should be reported and then either be taken down by admins/mods or the user gets banned if it goes overboard with it.

Honestly the only way I'd be okay if others could tag my art, is if I got a notification to approve said tag. Otherwise, it'll be really annoying to have to check all my deviations to make sure no one has tagged something they shouldn't have.
And while I don't do fetish art, I am one of those that don't tag much. I use to not tag at all.
I hate tagging...like a lot.

Please do not force Eclipse on to people later down the road. Make it optional, or just don't do it at all and just touch-up the current site.
It loses everything that people love in the site, especially the personalization of one's page. Getting rid of that customization is basically just shoving us all into a stable pen with tags attached to us, with nothing unique to set us apart.
Getting rid of that, as well as forcing Eclipse on to folks, will cause you to lose a lot of people.
And stop ripping the skeletal/base design from other art sites. If you want to stand out, make your own.

i agree, but (i read this somewhere from a reply a staff member made about eclipse being optional and sadly i cant find the reply anymore) eclipse will "be steadily pushed out to users and then made permanent" so unfortunately it wont be optional later onΒ
the customization of DA is what gives the site its money because of core and just stripping that away will just strip a chunk of money away from them its what made DA stand out from other art sites and with out it its just another art siteΒ
ive made this comparison many times and people seem to agree with me, this is like a scene from the lorax when a sea of animals leave their home because the onceler guy destroyed it for a quick buck i believe something like that will happen here- artists will be left "without a home"

they can still view the art by searching normally, i am not sure how DA could make their block system better unless they had a moreish version like Facebook does where you can't search at all by looking.
Aside from that, the block system here is pretty good and better as it can be from the last time.

I would suggest if weβre gonna add the blacklist, FORCE users to enable about 2-3 tags before submitting to DeviantArt, like Weasyl and E621 does (especially the latter) since theyβve had blacklisting long ago. Or else we users could (again like Weasyl/E621) can edit submission tags ourselves so we can block said images. If all goes down the path then we should be able to report the image for not using tags or inappropriate use of tags on the submissions.
If furry websites can do this, so can DeviantArt ffs!
