Premium Members can now use Google Analytics to get meaningful insight about the traffic to their deviantART Profile! Using our new Google Analytics integration, you can access comprehensive statistics about your audience, traffic, and art.
Get Deeper Insight Into Your deviantART Traffic
By enabling the feature on your profile, you can now use Google Analytics to get a better grasp on the deviantART experience that you’ve created for your audience!
- Understand what types of people are organically drawn to your work. Where do they live? How long are they on your page?
- See the impact of the marketing you do outside of deviantART. When you share your deviantART work and links in other networks and sites, you’ll be able to track the traffic back to your Journals, Gallery, Profile, and much more!
- Understand what your visitors are looking at when they’re on your Profile and even for how long! Sometimes visitor trends are unclear until you can see the bigger picture.
- Evaluate the difference in attention you get for some types of work versus others.
- See a direct correlation between your marketing activities to deviation submissions and spikes in traffic to your Journals, artwork, or Profile pages.
Learn More About Your Audience Knowing who is engaging with your Profile can help you make decisions about where to hang out, what Groups to join, and other things you might want to share with your audience.
Watch Realtime Activity Flow To Your Profile
Google's realtime reports allow you to sit back and watch activity happening on your content right this second.
View Traffic Stats For Your Content
Google Analytics allows you to dive into traffic stats for deviations, Journals, Galleries, Collections, and other areas of your Profile Page. See which deviations are the most popular today and find out where that traffic is coming from.
Track and Analyze Your Watches and Favourites
Our Google Analytics integration tracks when someone watches or adds your artwork to their favourites, allowing you to view charts and statistics of these events. How many favourites did Reddit traffic give you this week? How many new watchers did you gain last weekend after submitting your newest deviation? Did you gain more watchers this month or last month?
Favourites and Watches are available under Google Analytics' "Events" reports.
...And A Ton Of Other Reports
Here's just a sample of some of the stats you can see:
- Traffic charts, graphs, and statistics by date
- Traffic demographics (geographic locations, languages...)
- Visitor stats (new visitors, returning visitors, time spent on pages, number of pages viewed, bounce rates...)
- Top sites and social networks sending you traffic and, for some social networks, the individual posts that are linking to your content
- Search engine keywords people are using to find your Profile Page and content
Measure How Your Activity Impacts Your Audience Growth
Google Analytics can help you make decisions on how you manage your deviations. It can also allow you to see the impact of your on site activities.
- If you find that your audience is more active on certain days or times, you’ll be able to determine a schedule for posting new art or Journals.
- Perhaps you’ll find that the more you comment, the more you see your pageviews and watch list jump.
- If commenting, and critiquing others’ artwork for example, helps increase the level of activity on your Profile, perhaps you’ll decide to do this more frequently.

Obviously you don't pay attention. I said FOR ALL WE KNOW and if they did offer we the PROBABLY WOULDN'T BE TOLD. I did not say that an offer took place.
There is a difference between "google is taking over deiviantArt" and "I would hate it if google took over deviantArt"
Settle down. Do you think any of the comments are really that serious? Most everyone is just complaining about google products and saying how much it would suck if deviantArt became part of google.
Do you ever state what you would do in a situation, even if you don't really think it'll happen? Chances are, you probably have.
This is my last post here, since this is really wasting time, and is an extremely stupid and useless debate.
Good day.

This is cool, but if google buys out DA, I'm out. I like google as a company (mainly because of Android), but they ruined youtube and I like to see variety in websites. I want youtube to be youtube, G+ to be G+, Gmail to be Gmail, and deviantART to remain deviantART.
Youtube is now laggy, logging in is annoying, they bug you to death if you want to use a name other than your real name (which many, many don't want to.)
I hate logging into an email (which I have several) and every site owned by google, is logged in on the wrong account.
But, I don't have premium. So as long as google doesn't become any more involved it doesn't affect me. Thought I'm sure that google will at least try to buy out deviantArt -_-

60% from 10000 of the most popular websites in the internet uses GA for their own purposes. And I'm sure that maybe few of them like youtube belongs to google. So yeah, just because dA uses GA doesn't mean anything.

Which part of it is "to far"? Other than Google Analytics there are different analytics programs too which may be used in the same way. The difference is that the other ones are not free and same easily accessible for regular people as GA.

Alright, this is a really good addition, but seriously, why do we need premium just to see statistics? In fact, I think none of the add-ons to your profile should need premium. Google is a good company and all, but do you not know how to make your own statistic system? It is quite easy compared to what you possibly do now.

Well, behind websites like dA there are tons of people who are working on them and making a living of it. If the premium membership wasn't anyhow different than regular one, people wouldn't pay for it and what comes with it dA would make much less money. Which means less workers, less funds for developing the page and less functionality. None of the features available for premium members isn't necessary for a member to fully comfortably make a use of dA. There are no upload limits for people who don't have premium memberships, they are free to upload as much and as big files as they want and take part in community projects, discussions, networking and such. If regular member want to see their stats, they can just look at their pageviews counter or gallery stats.
Also, google analytics is free for use per se and is the tool specifically made for this one purpose, so it's not surprising that dA prefers to use it instead of spending who knows how much time and money on developing such system by themselves, especially if it would be just additional and optional functionality.

It would be a disaster if deviant were taken over by G+ company. To this guy, they don't even deserve the C- minus rating with the BBB, I am sick of G+ owned YT pulling the wrong videos down, and not listening to various appeals/when they do, they make some bs excuse how so and so's account violated some other rule of their's, i.e. copyright. A recent example, I mean for fapp sake, someone I know, all they did was show footage of them playing pokehidden's game, they even had already censored it, but because of the subject matter, G+ owned YT had a crab up their ass, and left it offline when they heard the covered music in the background (covered - redo of an existing song) That was shortly after tumblr or whoever gave a serious BS charge against pokehidden, and pulled his game offline from that site. Where as, their perfectly f-ing okay with those damn disgusting, bloody gory bloody cupcakes cartoons on there. I just want to make it clear, that while I have an attitude, I don't rat people out after all their fan work, but anyway, since I shot my mouth off here, and their data brokerage/corporate retail espionage is spying this site, at this moment, I wouldn't be surprised if my + account too is compromised.
All this G+ company connection does, is discourage me from ever going premium with this site.
So, to conclude, No thank you!

You are right, just the number isn't something what should bother anyone and people definitely pay way too much attention to it. But purpose of Google Analytics isn't limited only to showing you the number. The information provided by this tool may help the user understand what type of people visit their page, at what time, which part of their page is visited the most, how many visitors returns and such. The purpose of GA is providing the report to people so they could draw conclusions from it and make their pages more effective.

I see where you're going with this, but I really wish that DA would allow for the option of users to hide their stats COMPLETELY from others and also hide others stats as well. So they wont be so distracted by that silly number and really get to enjoy the art they see instead of seeing it and then drifting off to the side to see how many views/comments/faves etc they got. It can be discouraging to other artists on here. Just for that option to hide stats that are theirs from others and to hide others stats would be a better option in my opinion. This is great for people who really care about this kind of thing as far as business goes and actually paying for a premium account. I hope in the future this option will be available to all users, not just premium members. It will help others grow from inspiration, rather than trying to grow from a number.

Yes, I think this kind of feature wouldn't hurt anyone and possibly some people would make a nice use of it and find it as easier to focus on more important things as you say. But also I think that maybe besides hiding the number, it would be also worth a try for people who are letting such things like pageviews or number of watchers to have any influence on their motivation or mood, to try to find the solution for this problem in themselves and maybe try to change their approach toward this subject as well. It bothers me to no end when I see people saying that they won't draw anymore because the number of their pageviews doesn't satisfy them and they get upset about it to the very disturbing level. I wish for hem to reconsider what is their purpose and their priorities and why are they creating things in the first place. It may save them a lot of nerves.

Listen I did give it a try and if Google buys Deviantart then this site will be destroyed like YouTube. I cant even upload a video with out getting annoyed with the changes. Also Google Plus sucks. It changes my account on YouTube to my email which I DO NOT WANT! There are even people like me that get the massive glitch where the history doesn't tell you every video you recently watched so now I have to like every video in order to watch it. For example: I don't like the video but I like the music so I don't like it. Later I want to hear the song. Guess what. Its not in my history. I know I watched it but its not there. There are also people that do not like Google. So when they try to log into a site that Google bought they need Google plus so now they have to register for something they don't give two shits about in order to have a account on something else. So to sum it all up. Google is greedy and doesn't care about who doesn't like it and only cares about how many people will use the site so they can gain a damn profit.
