It's pretty likely they had some amount of fur, like boars/pigs.

Makes alot of sense i never thought about their relation cause most people make them all rinkly and monstrous....looks more like an actual animal

Thank you! The color-scheme is based on red river hogs!

Not a bad choice. I like those kinds of wild pigs. The shape of their ears are cool.

I. LOVE. THIS.
Commenting on how an animal in paleoart supposedly looks like a real animal may be a little trite, but I can't help but notice just how better these entelodonts look than they are in say, Prehistoric Predators or Walking with Beasts. The best part of this piece, however, is the look on the little camelid's face. That one open, weird-looking eye (I say 'weird-looking because the pupil is so blatant and horizontal) with the exposed teeth; this is apparently the face of having your body crunched and ripped by one of nature's prime examples of jaw power.

Thank you alot! I reallywanted the enteledonts to feel like real animals and not some type of fictional monsters and the poembrotherium to look like its really in pain!

I love the color scheme, reminds me of Red River Hog or Bush Pig. But don't you think they're a bit "lippy" for active predators? In general, the lower lips in particular are usually so minimal that the premolar row is visible when the jaws are open, and the upper lips are just simple drapes. This is constant from carnivorans and dasyurids to dolphins. I only ask because I've been noticing a trend of hippo-lipped enteledonts and Andrewsarchus.

If they were 100% carnivorous predators then maybe so but I imagine them being omnivorous with the occasional taste for flesh but not really say feline level as they would later branch out to hippos for instance. But this is really just some speculative fun for no other reason then that I'm do sick and tired of those shrinkwrapped-hell-pig depictions ^^

Certainly yours is leagues above the weird-looking enteletonts from most documentaries that look more like video game monsters than actual animals.Β

Among my favourite depictions of an entelodont ever. It just suits it.

Straight into the top 10 entelodont reconstructions. Heck, Id say top 5, those poor animals are almost always zombified.

The bushpig/red river hog look suits entelodonts, even if they are unrelated to pigs. Maybe it's the tribal, war paint/skull likeness. Β

Thank you! Theyre not competely unrelated to that of pigs although theyre much closer to hippos! However since theyre often depicted as "hell-pigs" I thought atleast the colorization could be inspired from pigs!Β
Heh yeah I guess
