And the possible profitability for Warner Brothers of releasing such a series in order to try and cash in on nostalgia, licensing rights, ect. had nooooothing to do with it...
I'll save my reverence for Ted Wolf, the original writer and creator, for without him and Rankin/Bass there would be no Thundercats in the first place.

You know, I'm really glad to see the pre-"economized" concept of Cheetara, as I'd actually been puzzling for awhile over some of the hard to make out details of the costumeβfor one thing, how much of what we're seeing on her legs is her "boots," her pants/leggings, or her actual bare legs!

I love this version with the darker eye markings. Kinda resembles the classic as far as the colors.

Well, this show was a team effort. In order to move things along, we handled the R&D and initial designs for most things here in the states first. Eventually, we passed things to Japan and they underwent a pass that helped economize the linework and convert to a style that was comfortable for the animators to work in.

thats awesome, the animators there have great draftsmanship! i happened to met Ashino san there, really cool dude. but yeah, maybe some day here in the states we can have more animation work in house like that style.
