Description
This is Mumm-Ra's vehicle called the "Storm Charger". But unofficially, we called it the Mumm-Ride as a joke. Somehow we all grew to like the name and used it internally during production. In this process, I used these drawings to be my template to build it in Sketchup. I did some quick distortion views to see how it stretched. The lines on the side became a loose orthographic for height.Related content

... always the nickname of the Mumm-Raf. if memory serves, wasn't that the name for that mini-pyramid he used in the original series to traverse between 3rd Earth and New Thundera?

Sketchup? Is that what the vehicles were created in for the show? They looked far far slicker than Sketchup to me!

I constructed a rough version in Sketchup for 4C. They converted the models into Maya for the end result. They did a fantastic job by the way!!

I love vehicles, enough to own several books devoted to them. Including of course about anything that's available from both the Star Trek and Star Wars collection. Perhaps we can enjoy something of the sort for Thundercats in the future?
And since we're in the subject, I know Mumm-Ra's dwelling just had to be a pyramid, but seeing it as a spaceship gave me this big warm Stargate feeling. Anyone else a fan or was it just a coincidence?
