Description This is my cute, cuddly kitty companion. His name is Happy the happy cat ...Happy for short, lol, there is a story behind his name, but it's a long one, so I'll spare you the drawn-out details. He really lives up to his name, though; he's such a wonderful kitty and loves and wants to cuddle everyone!

How could I not do a portrait picture of such a cutie? I was proud of myself because he's a very active cat, and getting such a close up was difficult. I think I was able to pull it off by influences to include cat nip (kitty weed) and the distractions of birds on my patio outside.

The lighting leaves much to be desired. I'm intimidated by my flash; it doesn't like cooperating with me, I think it has a grudge against me or something. But I like natural light sources versus from the camera anyway, so take that camera flash! Ha!

I was inspired by Freakshow6 and I did this for #23 on his 100 Word Challenge [link] Thank you Andrew-san! Yay!

edit: I liked it better without my added accents, so I changed it. (July 12th, 2007)

Heeheehee. I think I might enjoy being a mad scientist, actually. Lol.

Here kitty, kitty, kitty.

Good cameras are hard to come by. The good, good ones are way too expensive to be legal. Mine was supposed to be top of the line when I bought it, but I think that they're up to 10 megapixels now! Not to mention my pictures still come out grainy which is very annoying. I guess the larger the amount of megapixels doesn't necessarily lessen the noise. Thank goodness for Photoshop! Do you have an idea for a camera if you were going to buy one?

I'm happy to have inspired you!

I hate the flash on my camera, too. It's very overbearing, and makes everything look cheap and washed out. I'm guessing it's the same for you.

Yes, it is. I like to play around with the natural or the artificial light instead of blinding my subjects with the obnoxious flash. My camera does this thing where it's like paparazzi cameras and flashes about three or four times really fast for some unknown reason to me. It would annoy my human subjects, so I got used to turning it off, and I discovered I liked my pictures better when I worked with the light already present.

"Subjects" ...it sounds like I'm a mad scientist talking about whom I'm doing experiments on, lol.

Nah, "subject" is a regular art term. Though, I guess all artists are sort of mad scientists in their own right.

I wish my camera liked normal light. It always darkens everything, unless I use the flash, in which case it washes everything.

I need a new camera, needless to say. ^_^
