Description
"Welcome to the 23rd Century: A perfect world of total pleasure, With just one catch... "
Another entry in my art mash-up of Simpsons characters with classic Science Fiction films.
This time it's the ultra 1970's Sci-Fi film, “Logan's Run.”
"The only thing you can't have in this perfect world of total pleasure is your 11th birthday . . . Bart is 10."
Done on Bristol 14in X 17in board with ink and Prismacolor color markers
Next up, is a "Savior of the Universe!"

I love the hell out of this; you must be around my age. I did several pics on this, including: gulliver63.deviantart.com/art/… and gulliver63.deviantart.com/art/… and gulliver63.deviantart.com/art/…

Hello, Gulliver! Great job on the artwork! We might be around the same age, but most likely I'm a lot younger (born in the 80s). However, I do enjoyed old movies, and enjoy the heck out of old Science-Fiction movies!
I'm happy you liked the artwork!
Thanks for leaving a comment, pal!

Thanks! Had to ask. I read the book "Logan's Run" when I was 13 in the summer of 1976. I still think the movie kicked the door open for Star Wars and other space films. I'm always happy when someone does a LR piece of art, as many people haven't even heard about it (there's much talk of a re-make).

I've always wanted to read the novel, I need to check my local bookstore to see they have it. Agreed, "Logan's Run" is a much overlooked inspiration to many Sci-fi movies.

Be warned that the book is very different than what you saw in the movie. William F. Nolan wrote the novel in 1967, and the name Logan came from his then phone number exchange. When they bought it for the movie deal, they asked him and his co-author to write up a movie script, which they did. They then proceeded to just make their own movie story and throw theirs out. If they do the remake, it will be the original storyline that the authors had intended. I do like the 1976 movie though; I kind of wish they'd give it a re-release with some CG fixes like the old Star Wars movies.

Indeed a perfect world. Except for all the terror.
Man, Bart looks pissed off, and I don't blame him.
Faved.
