Description
Now, I know there's some back and forth on the existence of feathering in adult Tyrannosaurus, and that there are skin impressions showing at least part of T. rex bare-scaled, but this drawing is speculative in the extreme, purposefully. I wanted to draw a tyrannosaur not crushing it's enemies, driving them before him, and hearing the lamentations of their women. Rather, this young adult Tyrannosaurus rex is displaying it's plumage to try and woo a woman of his own.
Again, I'm near certain sexy rexy wasn't just feathered to the brim, but I wanted to go the extremes here on purpose, so this is more paleoart, less paleontography, if you catch my meaning. Anyway, I covered him in fluff that I loosely based on the plumage of red-tailed hawks, with the female being a more drab coloration. Took just under an hour all things considered, and I'm fairly pleased with this as a fun little doodle
