Description I saw her sitting on a bench listening intently as her friend chats away. I paused as I gathered the courage to approach them for a portrait. Fortunately, they were very friendly and obliged.

Later on, a friend of mine recognized her. She's actually a model from Brazil.

It's not easy... and it actually doesn't get any easier. In my case, the fear is still the same even after having shot a lot of portraits... but I guess it's just the idea of getting that keeper portrait the pushes me, you know? It's when you know you'll never forgive yourself if you didn't at least try.

So many times, yes. And the regret of not getting someone's portrait is worse than the regret of getting a rejection.
