Description Sketchy follow-up to another deviation of mine: [link]

I'm aware Daria is out of character here, and my defense is that I don't care.

...What?

Anyway, the exploit she speaks of is that there is a unique gun in Fallout 3 that a character will give you if you find and show her the right thing. It turns out, however, that it's NOT so unique, because it's possible to get her to give you an unlimited number of them (complete with some ammo). It's a powerful exploit because it can completely break the game's economy, which can diminish or increase the fun depending on how you like to play.

Jane's dressed in the Merc Adventurer outfit, and as for who Jane is in the this image, well, um... See, I was trying to figure out which companion was best fit to be Jane's double, and the criteria was basically a constant companion who wasn't concerned with karma or payment, and the companion who fit that description, well... Let's just say that collar isn't standard for the Merc Adventurer outfit

Tom's too bland to survive the post apocalypse anyway.

Hm. Well, "doesn't care about karma" Charon, but Jane is clearly not a ghoul, and the collar sounds like Clover, but she requires you to be evil, so... I dunno.

Actually,I don't think it's necessarily out of character. I mean, we never saw how Daria would react to an actual life-or-death post-apocalyptic combat situation in the cartoon. In fact, I think it's reasonable to guess that in such a circumstance she would not maintain her usual character. She was always deadpan, but you'd have to be inhuman to keep an air of mildly disdainful blase indifference when mutants and maniacs are raining Hell on you.
In fact, that turns me off from a lot of fanfics. So many authors just try to keep up the usual character traits even when the character is thrown into violent or extraordinary circumstances. You can read a story about Daria being kidnapped by space pirates and all she does is crack wise about their cliche vocabulary, and it'll be funny, but a story where she freaks out a little actually catches one's interest. Because that's treating her like a real person! Like she was in the cartoon. I saw her become upset at times, fearful, panicky, flustered... so if she's stuck in Lost Vegas and has to fight for her life, I have no problem believing she'd show a new side of herself.
Now you've got me picturing the virtual reality world being all "Lawndale." Creepy.

I think she'd show a new side of herself in the wastes (just getting to the wastes from the vault would basically require it), but I also think shouting out to the wilderness to "bring it on" while firing two guns and wasting ammo would remain out of character. If she was in the midst of battle and actually shooting at something, maybe, but she's basically being entirely wasteful and irresponsible here.

This is more something I'd see a wasteland Quinn do. I would also say Brittany, but based on the paint gun episode, she'd probably be the deadliest Daria character in the Wasteland, only falling short on intelligence based skills. Her Charisma, Agility, Sneak and Small Gun skills would be through the roof

Well, maybe she's putting on a show. She's smart, she may have guessed that setting forth a violent confrontational facade would be the appropriate response to produce a desired reaction in her audience. Perhaps she's trying to impress burly raiders, or frighten off easily startled sand people, or use reverse psychology on a band of confused mutant fashionistas.

I will just say that I have a Daria app... not on my phone, but on my ancient TRG Pro black and white Palm Pilot knockoff. The thing has to be like 10 years old. But when I saw there was a Daria app for it, I jumped at the chance.
It's kind of like the Magic 8 Ball, but Daria gives you snarky responses to your questions, just as you'd expect.

Somehow, I don't really think this is all that OOC for Daria.
In game, methinks she would reveal more of herself than she would in real life.
So this is totally in line with her.

I reccomend Tailer made, or another mod that adds extra equippable items like that.

Then you can continue wearing your vaultsuit... while patching extra kit ontop of it.

For both a Visual improovement, and the stat boost!

I got the SMG on accident hahaha. i set of a tripwire and avoided the nice car engine that fell but Sydney totally got owned. i laughed for 5 minutes then took the gun and said "damn this gun is good! better than what i've got so far" hahaha that was maybe weeks ago. I just finished everything. Everything.

I found it by looking at a wiki, to be perfectly honest. I avoided wikis and guides on my first playthrough, but for the second, I wanted the inside scoop (and in the first, Sydney died by accident, so I got it that morbid way). If you want to know yourself, here's a link to the wiki's page on the gun: [link] You can find what you need to know to find it via the "location" part of the article.

Ahhh, well there you go then... obscure and far-distant to her, not much chance of finding it unless by accident...

Honestly, who hasn't broken the games of Fallout? Hell in Fallout New Vegas a friend of mine has like 12 of those guns that shoot off the tactical air strike. IT'S PART OF THE FUN, DAMN IT. >:C

A unique SMG sounds cool. I couldn't find an SMG in FO3 that wasn't completely worthless compared to other guns I found before it until I installed the FOOK mod.

Bah. If the SMGs were accurate for anything besides close range, I'd consider using that exploit. I'd much rather engage enemies as far away as I can.

I've yet to play 3, but, I like New Vegas. I'm rather on the fence about 3, as I've heard that alot of people have had it crash when trying to start a new game...
