Description
So my friends and I (aka Curse, Terra, Ashe, and Kinoms) decided to do a weekly drawing theme. This week? Shadow the hedgehog.
I did Sky Rail not to long ago and thought I should draw him again. He's fun, but frustrating in alot of aspects.
Anyway, I decided to do something like a wind-up for a chaos control. Woot.
ALSO, for future reference, DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT ever use a 2000px smudge brush when doing a sky because CS3 will try to render for 45 mins and freeze the computer up -_-.

Shadow again huh? Nice choice of highlights for Shadow's skin and quills. One thing to note. I kind of feel a few areas look dull in compared to the rest of the idea. Like his body. Since the chaos emerald is shining thanks to the sunlight obviously, Shadow's body could have been a little brighter just to emphasize the reflection and refraction of light upon the emerald. Other than that, excellent work once again.

yeah i actually had to redo his black fur 4 times believe it or not. I tried the shininess and it made it confusing, so I had to revert and decided that maybe a less dynamic shade method for the primary fur was needed.

Yeah I see where you get at. Maybe some thin clouds could be blocking the sun or something or I don't know, I'm not a master at highlights myself lol

I like it, I really do. the coloring is stunning and the pose dramatic.
I did have one question though: Why does his chest hair look bigger then usual? I mean it's just a small detail, but it looks strange to me, like a beard. I think that's because you drew it more like it was attached to his chin, instead of half-hidden with his chest twisted partways around.
One other minor thing I noticed was that the transition in lighting effects on his containment rings isn't smooth. That, combined with the indecisive edge on the ring on his left arm, makes them look like some kind of liquid. I don't know if you were going for that or not, but it's something I had to point out.

lol I dont know why but I always draw the chest hair way to big, regardless of the character. xD
The ring transition i know is different than normal, but I do this because a standard relection didn't seem to have the depth it needed. I made the rings semi-translucent, which accounts for the internal refraction.

To my college below, No way the eyes are amazing. Great detail in there i love it. Really amazing. It's good to see that artists can break away from the original SEGA style of drawing shadow and the other characters and incorporate their own styles into their artwork
