Roderick Ives was a callous young vampire. He boasted that he could enchant any fair maiden or gentleman with love and entice them to come to his lair.Naturally his boasting did not sit well with some of his fellow vampires. They proposed a challenge. If he could get the beautiful and head strong daughter of the governor, Ella Daley to come to his lair, they would be his servants, and share their prey with the sweetest blood.
Roderick foolishly agreed. Unknown to the young vampire, the governor and his daughter Ella had long standing agreement with the vampires. They were to be protected by, and provided with the identities of vampires in the area. In return they would cover up any vampire caused deaths as accidents, and continue to let vampires live and feast in their town. For her safety, Ella was under several protection charms.
When Roderick tried to use his charm on Ella, he soon found himself in love with her. And he became convinced that she was madly in love with him. On the night of the full moon when his powers were strongest, he confessed to her he was a vampire, told her he would like to turn her into a vampire so they could be together forever. She asked him to join him upstairs in her attic at midnight. She wished to have a few hours to say goodbye to the mortal world.
Roderick entered the room, but Ella was nowhere in sight. Ella, with the help of some of the other vampires, sealed him in the room and buried the key.
To this day he is still there. His powers keep him alive, but without blood he no longer has the strength to move. His mind slips in and out of delirium. Ella will come for him tomorrow. She is just late. They will live together in happiness.

I haven't done a uber detailed illustration in awhile (usually cause people don't like them). But I thought I should try again in my time off. I was experimenting with some new texturing techniques. I think it looks pretty cool.
I know that the clothing isn't historically accurate. I was just having way to much fun designing his outfit. Guys in lace and ruffles are uber smexy.

I'm so happy to see that you're starting to do Twilight fanart - the world needs more of it. In fact, we need more Twilight books and movies as well, and they should be required material for all K-12 literature classes, as well as in college, because they're that GOOD.

(well I'm still debating keeping it straight or turning it yaoi. I have a thing for boy love stories, but I know it can sometimes ruin the story.
I'm not writer, so I doubt this story will make it beyond a plot summery. He's not necessarily a good or bad vampire... He wasn't really any badder than other vampires. He just was very immature, think college-frat-playboy.
It's present day. Most vampires have been killed off, the few that live have found ways to survive without taking life. Ella has long since passed away. And the old woman living in the mansion dies (she is of no relation to the Daley family). She is without relations or will. The home, and it's 150+ years of items become property of the government. Slowly the house is cleared by government workers to put the items up for auction. And by the time the attic is mostly clear, one of the workers notices the door to another room in the attic. Even without the key, the wood is so rotten the door was easy to open. He gets a splinter opening the door sending the sent of blood through the air, and breaks the seal containing Roderick. The worker sees what he thinks is a beautifully and exquisitely crafted life sized doll. As he goes to touch Roderick with his pricked finger. The flesh so close jolts him out of his dazed life.
He thinks somehow this man is the one that prevented his Ella from coming to him. "Where is she? What did you do to her? We love each other, what right do you have to keep us apart?" In tears and anger he kills the worker, and drinks his blood. Rejuvenated, his mind is clearer, but he still doesn't know how much time has really passed or what had really happened, even his memories are still fuzzy. He wanders downstairs, out of site of the other worker in the house. The house looks on the verge of collapse, items not of his time are scattered through the buildings, and not even the sent of Ella lingers. He's catching on... The finishing blow was finding her tombstone in the cemetery up the hill.
Overcome with grief he flees, unknowning of his direction. Where he happens to find a road, decorated with strange moving lights. Where he's sideswiped by a car. And knocked unconscious (so many years without blood, his powers have not really returned yet). The driver is, while not exactly a bad person, but lacks good judgment. They try to do good but usually mess it up in the process. Anyway, they freak, they don't have insurance, and were driving without a license. They decide to take Roderick home with them, and care from there. There doesn't seem to be any broken bones.
Meanwhile, the dead body is found by the other worker. The police are sent to investigate. Just so happens one of the police is a vampire, and catches wind of the event. And knows that a rouge vampire is on the loose that must be caught.
Dun dun dun... to be continues cause i haven't though about what happens after that at all. Lol.

Fine I'll share more. I haven't named and designed the other characters yet, but I'll give them some temp names for the sake of making things less confusing.
We'll call the guy that hit Roderick with a car, Tim. The vampire police man we'll call Jack.
This event is triggering a vampire war. Jack, just thinks this is a vampire that has gone bad and needs to be dealt with, the standard quo. But when he notifies Chris (another temp name) about this new vampire to be dealt with. Chris happens to know exactly which vampire this is. Its Roderick. Chris hates Roderick. He has always thought of him as a rival. And was always pissed that Roderick got the things that he wanted. So Christ lies and tells Jack that Roderick isn't some normal vampire that's gone bad. He was a extremely powerful vampire that slaughtered an entire village for fun and the 10 vampires given the task to stop him couldn't kill him but managed to seal him away. And somehow he has escaped.
This truly evil and powerful vampire does exists, but he's still sealed away and it isn't Roderick. If Chris had told the truth, that Roderick was sealed away 150 over a cruel prank and petty jealousy, things would have stayed in control. Jack is fair, he would have found Roderick, got him caught up to date with the times and new vampire regulations, and then help him relocate.
But this wasnβt the case. Now Jack and his teams want to find and annulated Roderick before worse can happen. And the vampires that have gone bad catch word of the escape of this powerful and evil vampire. They want to find Roderick first, so they can have a powerful ally in their thirst to take control. They are tired of pretending to be invisible, they want the humans to know their presence, and fear them.
Meanwhile, while everyone is trying to figure out where the hell Roderick disappeared tooβ¦
Tim knows a kid Jason (nother temp name) whoβs a 3rd year med student. And figures thatβs close enough to a hospital. So when Roderick comes to, heβs at Jasonβs place. With Tim begging him to help and Jason voicing concern because he didnβt want to get in trouble. When Roderick opens his eyes and goes to lift himself up. Tim says, βsee heβll be fine. Thanks man I owe you.β And leaves before Jason can finish the sentence, βbut I didnβt agree to this.β
