Description
Alright, first off, there was no 3D anything involved here. This was all Photoshop, textures, and hand sketching/shading with a tablet. This was done with about 60% painting and 40% texture shading and alignment.I thought I'd try something new beside traditional painting, and I wanted to go for a very realistic yet accurate recreation of this level. For anyone who didn't play descent, this is the first level. I remember this even from when I was younger, I used to play this part a lot because I didn't know how to save.

You still can play Descent online today (without Kali), as it has a pretty active community.
There are even a couple of ports for use on newest computers that supports lots of stuff, internet play with Tracker and many enhancements (both gameplay and graphic ones).
There are even a lot of new custom missions to play.
Google for DXX-Rebirth and D2X-XL (Both are pretty nice ports of this great game!!)

The reflections of course are the best part of this, I could tell you were excited about them as well because its one of the first parts you finished during this piece's creation. Lighting is good and I love the little details like the wire/pipe coming off of the caution sign. Little bits like that not in the original give this a nice flare, I like it.
