Thor's Assassin...this piece took...QUITE some time.For this piece, I wanted to modify and "enhance" the armor [since he commissions so many people and probably has about 200 copies of the same suit over and over again] but yet I wanted to do it in a way that it still remains "TA"...hard to describe...but I wanted to enhance it without completely turning him into something else altogether...so, it took a while trying to come up with the right design. I think that's probably the thing that really took up the most time. However, when it all comes down to it, I'm really content with the final armor design...loving the sleekness.
Overall, among all of the pieces I've done, I think this piece had the most amount of experimentation used...I kinda lost count of the number of times I drew and then redrew the same thing over and over again...and first time I REALLY took advantage of doing digital work to edit stuff.
I don't think I was successful at outdoing Kindred as I had originally hoped...but, it's STILL a good piece, though, right? Right???
Anyways, I had a total blast drawing this. Hope you like it!

Nice piece Jtran! I really like the mods you made to the armor. I also like that you decided to go with a pretty dynamic perspective. I notice alot of artist shying away from that and your all over it. The environment leaves a bit to be desired but I personally think they are the hardest aspect of a piece to really hit spot on. Looking forward to your future works.

What "I" would do with the background is making it much darker. So that the focus of the image becomes TA and the Explosion.
Anyway. That armor is kick-@$$. Keep it up!

I agree with TA. I think you spent so much time on the figure that the background just looks tacked on.
Still, I love what you've done with TA and the armor. Gorgeous. Sometimes we need to be reminded that just because a figure was drawn one way doesn't mean we can't "enhance" it some. The tweaks to the armor are better, imo, than what the character creator can come up with.
I also like the flow of the cloak.

I think you did an amazing job on the figure here.
But if I'm oing to be honest, I think the background takes away from the quality of it. Personally, I think either a whole swackoftime needs to go into it, or just do a simple gradient and let the character speak for itself.

TA has never looked so good! You've done a great job at the redesign and in keeping his look in tact! Honestly (and don't take offense please) I think the background looks unfinished but that figure totally makes up for it!!
