...because I haven't built the turbines for the engines yet. Although they do stay closed for spaceflight, but not for atmospheric flight. I was wondering when someone would call me out on that.

Not so much an out calling, just wondering. Perhaps they are still reentering the atmosphere, are too high and would risk a compression stall. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Looks pretty cool. never used 3DS Max or Poser though I still toy with Blender cause its free.(well legally free, I know I could get the others out there illegally free)
Also just started watching the series but seriously first time I saw one of these planes I was thinking F14 Tomcats in an Anime?
(fun fact, USN actually uses the VF-# for fighter squadrons. though in this case V stands for fixed wing and F for fighter)

Ha, Yeah F-14's were almost old fighters when the the anime came out in the 80's! But I've always loved these fighters anyway. Have fun watching, it's one of my favorite series.
Of course Macross co-opted VF to mean "variable fighter"...

True they where old even then But they are likely the most famous fighter in pop culture. Now the F-117 Nighthawk and the B-2 Spirit both look like a space fighter to me. they are black, strange looking even by typical aircraft standard.
(naturally I like to silently chuckle while watching the show. what is more science fiction.. giant aliens or a functional United Nations)
Actually it only took me about three days to finish the series since I uhm "acquired" it. of course it seems its impossible to get much of any of it in the US due to some company called Harmony Gold. so it seems I will simply have to download fansubs or stream them.

Ah, Harmony Gold. I love/hate them because they brought me Robotech, my gateway anime, but now they block the other Macross series from entering the States. But they can keep blocking "Macross 7" for all I care.
Ha, and I'll have to invent my own tail art and squad numbers for the fictional squads one day.

Thanks! The front Valk, the team leader, is a 1J. Her two wingmen are VF-1As. Haven't built a 1D or X head yet, and recently had to borrow a 1S head.
