Description
My own submission to the thousands of Macross-related pictures. Popular subject around here, wow!Three Valkyries with non-canon paint schemes shown. Originally used as a background in another picture showing the pilots of the respective craft.
Rendered in Vue and Poser. Valkyries modeled in 3ds max.

pretty nice work. I'd like to make some suggestion about the rendering if you allow me :
i noticed it was made in 2008 so most of those can be answered within 3DS max 2011...
- try to change shader, maybe Mental Ray since you're going for a realistic feel.
- the glass on the cockpit could be better rendered and not have an impression of paper-thinness.
- the lightening could be less cold if you see what i mean. try to define a tone that could be more HD for example, Transforformer feel. using HDRI should help.
that's what came to mind when i first saw your work.
The modeling of the valkyrie is pretty good though

This was totally rendered in Poser with a somewhat poor BG picture from Vue. It was also an early try at LDR lighting and ambient occlusion. I possibly doubled up on the AO in both these early shaders and the lighting. The latest Poser can use actual HDRI, but it still *sucks* at refraction so glass will always look wrong in some way.
Never liked rendering in max for some reason. It would probably turn out pretty darn well!
