Description
The ladies of Fire Snakes squadron investigate a mystery in the back alleys of the air base. Captain Dina Campbell tells the skeptical Hyosung Bae to get her arse in gear, while Ever Seiyama and H.K. Spendlove consider what may lie in wait. Behind them, Xiaqi Iyanez and the Zentradi Laelea Foliar discuss the situation. The men of the squadron are absent⦠because I hadn't built their uniforms yet.First real attempt at making and using dynamic clothing for my squad of original Macross pilots, and their properties are still being worked out. The design is still evolving. Almost all of them are wearing different colored stripes now. Will probably abandon them in favor of conforming/dynamic hybrid clothes. Half of the figures have been replaced with improved versions, but I figured I'd share anyway.
Rendered in Poser Pro 2010. Thanks for looking!

Not really, not yet at least.Β They are custom works in progress, and not refined enough to be shared yet.

I second the request for these when your finished. There is very little to nothing available for Robotech as it is let alone clothing for Poser/DAZ.
It looks a lot like the uniform Lisa wore just with the pilots shoulder thing added. Itβs a very natural looking transition for female pilot uniforms since I believe the only one we saw on screen in Macross at least, was Miriya.
Before I forget, great looking render as well.

Thanks, and your request is noted as well. Yeah, the female uniforms all have the same shape, they are just colored differently. These are just colored like the pilots, with a blue shirt. Considered making the skirt blue like the pilot's pants... Might still try that one day.

You could have both white and blue skirts. The white could be the duty uniform and the blue a dress uniform. Did they have dress uniforms in the show? Its been a long time since I saw them and cant remember anymore.

There are some illustrations from the character designer showing characters after Macross. He matches the pants and the skirts on the future uniforms. Mine is set after the end of Macross and could be a transition towards those. Okay, did a test render and it's interesting... Worth doing a whole pic sometime. The only dress Uniform I saw was Capt. Gloval with a little cape with medals.

Something that would take place before Sentinels and their uniform change? Sounds pretty cool. I know the old Robotech RPG from Paladium Games had something set after Macross but if I remember correctly it was shortly afterwards or maybe up to a few years later bu tI think they still used all the same uniforms. Maybe Iβll dig those books out one day again and look through them.
By the way what program are you using to make the uniform?

I meant the original Macross, not Robotech. Although I adore Robotech, especially the Sentinels novels. But the character designer for Macross did some art of future Max and Miriya [link] (middle of page), and Komillia (Dana) as an adult [link] Think it was for videogames. The uniforms are way more stylized and shirt and pants/skirt always matched. And I'm totally matching colors now, too.

Oh, going for the original versions! Very cool and even better.
The picture with the 3 of them in red, white and blue hats and shirts? Thatβs a pretty sweet uniform although Iβm not to fond of how the end of the sleeve looks.

Okay, the Komillia link was wrong, so [link] . I love those, and it is the next logical progression for the uniforms from the first versions.
Oh sorry, uniforms were made in 3ds max, textured in Photoshop.

Those are pretty cool uniforms. I can see why you would like them so much.
Thanks for the info on what program you are using. Iβve been kind of curious what people use to make their things with.

Thanks! Maybe, once they are truly done. As you can see, the fit of them is hit-or-miss right now.

Nah - leave them in the standard UN Spacy uniforms.

I dunno. There's not even a standardized color depiction of UN Spacy female pilots, except for 2 views of Miriya in uniform. And the uniform was drawn differently both times!
