Description Happy New Year, dear friends!!!
The word "Winter" in Russian is feminine, and in some songs it is referred to as a woman.
I love winter and snow dearly, and here is my New Year deviation - a Winter monotype.

Watercolour monotype.

Beautiful art with amazing shades of green and blue!
Makes me want to try a russian-style winter (but we had -20-25°C last year so probably isn't necessary to travel that much )

How do you do this?
Do you just... put the splotches on and then see what you can make out of it?
Or do you somehow plan it out to look the way it does?

...Either way, it's amazing O_O

No, no, I never know what I will find it the splotch I can control colour gamma, but nearly nothing else

Thank you!!!

That's cool! So you really never know what you're gonna get... I'm really impressed that you can turn the splotches into stuff like this.
How did you get the white in some of the areas? Dry brush? Or did you put another paint on top?

You're welcome ^^

I wash away the paint by slightly wet brush. Sometimes (rarely) I skratch some small details.

Personally I never put lighter paint on top, but it's my own craziness: all my colleagues that work in the same technique do that.

Ahhhh do you do it while the paint is still wet? Or can you do it after it's dried?

Oh, so it can be done either way... I like the way you do it :3

It depends. Sometimes while wet, sometimes later. Sometimes even a week later %)))

Здорово!!! Неужели это все акварель? Подобную технику встречал у работающих с энкаустикой. А вообще похоже на драгоценные камни

Да, акварель, и ничего кроме акварели Это монотипия.

This is very nice! I love all of the details.

I've only done one monoprint and it didn't turn out very well. I was wondering if you could give out some advice on how you made this. I'd love to know how you did it.

Thank you!!
Shure, I can tell you the basics of the process. I usually recommend people to start with gouashe or acryl, for they are more convinient for monotype than watercolour, and also it's good to make the first attempts with just black paint.
Anyway, you'll need a gloss paper.
First I put a paint stain on a smooth sursace (I use the other sheet of gloss paper), and then put a clean sheet on it. Then I take it off - and try go understand what could be done with the stain. After that I add or remove some paint to make the result look as I want it!
It's a very interesting process, I'm in love with it - you should try!!!
Have luck!!!
