General Personality: Sebastian is a charmer. He appears like a shiny new toy and takes every oppurtunity he can to impress everyone. Whether he's giving out compliments, generous gestures, offering to do errands--or his favorite--keeping secrets; Sebastian always wants to get on their goodside. Which in appearances, seems like a smart decision, given his size and his rank. Even when he's in the presence of a steamy brute, he'll try to play suave and get on the safer end of the dog's aggression.
But don't let his smiles and cheeky compliments decieve you. Sebastian may not be a cruel or murdurous little rat, but he isn't sweet because of his better nature either. The Following may not be as dangerous as wandering the desert, but it isn't easy living either; and there's limited uses for small breeds such as himself--and that thought alone plagues him.
Sebastian is driven. He's goal oriented--hell, he's obsessed--and he will do whatever it takes to get him where he wants to be. He switches personalities by the minute; molds himself according to his surroundings, and adapts to compliment the personalities of others (especially those of higher rank). He's given so much of himself to his goal, parts of him have disapeared completely; enough that he might even brood on lonely nights, enjoying the silence, and putting down the mask for a precious few moments.
But Sebastian's goal always prevails, and he will not see past it. He cannot put the disguise down, ever, for the boon of his efforts might disapear. He will not stop--until he is safe. All Sebastian wants is safety, security, a high stone upon which to sit so that nothing can touch him. A throne. A guard. He will not speak it aloud, but he is desperate. There's not a waking moment he doesn't think about laying upon lush hides, and eating the freshest meats, and being completely and utterly shielded by the outside world. Sebastian wants power. And he will do everything to get it.

Sebastian's relationship with Zonje, however, makes up another part of him entirely. Even though he feels his rituals to Zonje are nothing but show, he is pulled towards the image of the God like a moth to flame. Since Sebastian is scared of losing his goal--and therefore scared of his true self--he doesn't 'waste time' dwelling on his religious beliefs. He prays to Zonje devotedly, but his tone changes when he is alone. He honestly believes that Zonje is the only one giving him enough strength to keep moving through the day, seeing as that he gets minimal sleep if any.

From what he could gather, his mother had brought him to the Following in a desperate attempt to free herself from the desert--he being her last pup, assuming the others died of starvation or other predatory means. Per The Following's belief system, his mother had to be executed; she was only using Zonje as an excuse for shelter.
Sebastian, on the other hand, was spared. He asked for information time and time again, but no one had an answer for him. He didn't know whom he should be thankful to, whether it was Zonje or perhaps the sympathetic soul that just happened to be in the right place at the right time. Coincidence, or Destiny?

Placed with a temporary care taker, Sebastian grew fast and smart. Even at a young age he could talk well, and respond to complicated questions; showing signs of solutionary thinking. However, his phyisical abilities didn't match up to others his age due to his size, and the simple fact that he preferred to think than to fight. Still, this left him with a handicap. Although now Sebastian can run far and fast, he hasn't been able to rank up to anything. He remains a follower, always trying to slink his way up and always ending up with nowhere to go. Sebastian has spent so much time being someone else, he has lost himself. Although he may not admit it, Sebastian feels blind. He feels as though a part of him is being kept away, and only he can be the culprit. For fear that he may lose his longterm goal, he surpresses inner feelings.

Up until he grew to his current age, Sebastian raomed The Following in such a fashion--trying to impress, trying to rank, but never getting anywhere. He struggles to find a place to grow into, to finally start reaching for his goal that keeps him awake at night.

Sebastian may enjoy being alone on occaison, but it mostly scares him--so he often seeks the comfort of a crowd.

Drives and motives: As mentioned, Sebastian wants power. He wants to be safe, far away from danger, and comfortable. Being a Follower, for him, feels too close to the ground. Too close to the desert. And being a terrier, he's even closer than most. Even though he can talk himself out of most ugly situations, he's seen things that have scared him. I live in the Pacific Time zone, and I am mostly reachable on the weekends at later times such as: 8:00 pm to 12:00 pm. I do however have chronic fatigue, so I usually can't go into the early mornings. (Not saying always, sometimes I can overdose on caffiene, but just in case I can't...)
