Description
How to make one of the origami paper stars, in 12 steps! I tried to make them as elaborate as I could without using too many words to confuse anyone. If you have any questions about the steps, I'll be glad to answer them to the best of my ability
If you want to get the paper strips, but can't find any stores to buy them at, just search here on DA: "paper star strips" and you should get a few. Print them out. Cut them as straight and perfect as possible, because that would affect the outcome of the star o3o
EDIT: I made this over a year ago, so I cleaned up some of the words and just thank you all for enjoying!

Thanks! I've just always been doing it that way, it makes the folds a lot more secure than just wrapping it around!

If your only problem is the open end, it's actually no problem with the folding. I can't really see your paper, so I guess all I have for advice is to fold the paper a little tighter, and while pushing the sides in, you need to be careful.
A way to carefully push the side in is to slowly do it and kinda feel when the paper is about to collapse the wrong way. If you can feel it going wrong before it actually happens, you can flatten the pentagon out and start on a different side. At least that's how I do it, not too difficult.

I've never seen it done like this before! I'm new to paper stars. I have a really hard folding still (after making the paper knot) and I don't know if I'm just dumb orrrrr...
But this really helped! I'm going to keep trying~. Thank you. :'D

Thank you very much! I'm glad it helped! And you're welcome!
I don't know, but maybe the kind of paper you're using affects the folding after the knot? I use store bought strips primarilly, but when I cut out my own [and get uneven edges] it does make folding a bit more difficult. And the thickness too.
Other than that, maybe it's just that they folds aren't as snug and close as they should? I've seen how my cousins and friends try it and the folds are quite loose compared to mine.

Wow In all my years of doing stars, I've never seen the instructions to slip it under during the folding process... (repeated steps 6) And I have gotten lazy and if it it has too much access at the ends I just double fold it before sliding the last bit under. I also don't even tuck the extra bit in at the beginning just fold it over then wrap around it.

Oh really? That's interesting, I learned this way from instructions on Korean paper strip packages. I find this one to make the end pentagon even in layers of paper, but still thick enough to pop perfectly.
I might try your way sometime to see which feels better! ^^

Yeah, your way of folding is much faster. But I kept worrying if the strip would fall apart, so I folded it really tight. >.<
