Woah ... that's one kitty-cat you wouldn't like to find in your back garden. I love the shading, particularly on the boots. Very intriguing and dramatic character design. A very successful background, too. Good work!

Very nice work, there's a good sense of action here. First of all, as others have already mentioned, the character as a very effective pose that not only convey action but sets up your perspective and image balance, that's always a good way to get a scene started. Also, the subtle blur that you've placed on the fore-most portions of the image gives the scene a good DOF which makes for more action but also leads to a good depth in the image. Finally, the background is nice but I think that it detracts from the image a bit, it's a little too busy and complicated, I think it would be better as a piece all on it's own. For some reason, I envision this character in a scene all to his own, with a custom background that really enhances the aforementioned depth and action.
Still, that aside, I really dig this piece, nice work.
