bitter chill coming off the water
alone for miles
the only sound is your camera
a click of recognition

lovely. I love thel lighting. The image is really really nice. I think it would look good without the trees as well.

OMG, that's amazing. It probly sucked to be out there that early, but your time was well spent. This looks amazing. The lighting is excellent. The mixture between sillouette and color are so beautiful. Where IS that? The color is so vivid and alive, it makes me want to be there. I can almost smell the air

haha thank you. yes it did suck - cept it was sooooo peaceful and chilly (during the middle of summer!) so it was kinda cool. My eyes were sleepy until we arrived - then I suddenly awoke

i wonder why?

its in teton national park - just south of yellowstone on jenny lake. If you ever go there - go into the north entrance to jenny lake - and halfway down (so really youre halfway down the east bank of the lake) is where I took the picture - looking north through some trees. Quite a spot.

I also got a pano while I was up there - its pretty neat - but I have to stitch it together first.

and thats gonna take forevvvvah

Gorgeous! The colors are amazingly vibrant! Are you using film or digital? Must !

darkened-flame In reply to Terri-Wilson [2004-08-08 06:37:37 +0000 UTC]

thatd be digital

neatimaged the sky so it wouldnt be so noisy

and yeah i figured out a technique to make the colors actually look good in digital. Gonna have to try some color photos now.

Very pretty, just like the last few I've seen from you. Gorgeous shots that could be in calendars with nice little catch-phrases or on those inspirational posters some managers insist on hanging in shops.

Hooowweverrrrrr. o_o It's not as cool as your older shots. XD Granted that doesn't mean much, I'm just trying to say I'm most impressed by your more active and expressive photography.

This is great, no doubt about it. It just doesn't say as much to me. c_c; Just my little opinion.

darkened-flame In reply to simbandeh [2004-08-08 06:40:18 +0000 UTC]

hahaha. Why thank you. Glad youre enjoying them.

Indeed I dont really enjoy color as much as I do infrared - but I try and mix it up because my devwatchers like it that way

I figure eh - theres plenty of color photographers out there - but very few IR photographers. If you want color - go check out coxi or CAD or basically anyone else with a camera

But doesnt hurt to venture into the color every once and while eh?

More "expressive" and "active" photos are to come .

I even have a suprise brewing - been testing something different. Hopefully yall will enjoy it.

Ah, color. That's the first of those in a long while...

Love the crisp framing, and the richness of the sky.

The lone cloud looks as if it's about to forge the great mountain. I can't take my eyes off it.

The patterns in the rocks and vegetation on the leftish hill is a smattering of life and stagnation at the same time, a silent struggle for space in the composition of the piece.

And the shadow regions are fun filled as well.

Landscape! Landscape!
