My entry for the current nintendo-fc contest.This Samus Aran as she looks like on the very first Metroid booklet.
Her original design isn't the same on every page of that booklet, but generally the power suit is less sharp, the middle part is smoother, and the green thingies are more roughly mechanical... the fans will notice every differences i guess.
Also, if most of us think of metroids as cool-looking horned jellyfish, they originally looked like crap, with tentacles moreover.
Drawn with pen and felt tip, color and light effect by Paintshop pro 9. This is my very first digital colouring by the way, so it's a bit rough.

Ah, so thats the costume Nintendo reused in Metroid Prime when Samus lost the armor abilities.

wow so seldom does anybody draw Samus in her regular power suit. Varia and Zero are what you find most on dA (then Dark and Phazon and distantly the regular one, Gravity, and fusion). anyway awesome

Tentacle metroids. They surely started out weird, but explained more about the absorbing power.

Serieusement, merci. Effectivement, Samus a certaine partie bizarrement ombrée, et le metroid est totalement insensible à la lumière... erf. Je ferai mieux la prochaine fois.
