Origin:
An idea originally created by Peggy Carter, Director of SHIELD, they were brought together to stop Baron Mordo. However, when the Government forced them to danger the lives of civilians, they became an independent group, calling themselves the Defenders. Hank Pym took leadership, and guided his team throughout the 70's and 80's.
