Description
Now that I'm to the point where I can actively participate in BattleTech games again, I decided to start building a Davion force. Not sure what time period, but my fondest memories were from the 3025-3050 time era, so that was the era I wanted to emulate the most. Seeing as Davion was able to produce Assassins and Valkyries, I decided to go with those 'Mechs for the Light lances (for the most part). What you see here is the Command Lance. Unlike others of the Light Lances, these guys retain their deadly LRM racks for long-range attacks. For those of you wondering what the blue stripes are, on the tabletop game, it is very important to signify which 60-degree arc is the 'front' of the 'mech and which arc is the 'rear' of the 'mech, so I decided to paint the front arc blue and the rear arc red, for ease of play on the part of my opponents. As you can see, the scenic bases can distort that a little bit.
While their camoflage may look a bit plain, I had a lot of fun painting these guys with a tactical mindset, and it allowed me to really relax while painting.

I can't say I know much about this game so i'll just give what feedback I can at the moment. Probably one of the best aspects of the models here are the large volumes of flock you've added to the base.
The greenery contrasts well with the dark metal of the mechs and the large quantities you've added, as well as the type of flock, emphasises upon their fictional size. Making it look like they're striding through a jungle or heavily forrested area.
In addition to this the eletric blue you've used for certain parts of them, i'm guessing they're cockpits helps to further highlight the darker areas of the models and gives a good contrast of colours, as does some of the silver highlighting along the more metallic areas. The problem is that I don't think it's enough. It might just be the light but they still look extremely dark and somewhat featureless.
I'd suggest adding bits of colour somewhere, possibly red and white kill markings, but it's your choice. Aside from that there's no complaints worth mentioning.

Yeah, that was kind of the conclusion I came to as well after sleeping for roughly 12 hours. The Davion symbol is actually a sword with a yellow sunburst in the back, set into a round red circle. I'm just having trouble deciding where I want to put it, really. Other bits of color would help tremendously as well, I'm just not sure where or what. Kill markings and other personalized decor would probably be good, thanks for the suggestion!

Well, if the symol's that shape then I would guess that the 'chest' of the right two mechs and the rounded shoulders of the left two would be the best places. They seem to have the largest featureless areas on each one.
