Description This is a render of my vehicle for a project at school in my Advanced 3D graphics class. I was trying to make it look kinda like a pod racer from Starwars.

Made and textured in Cinema 4D as always.

Glad it didn't turn out a Pod Racer.. I think that had become too cliched.. particularly if you ever did Maya and used Digital Tutors tutorial classes..

This piece has its own individuality... I commend you for that... Lovely job on the shaders and particles... and Lovely render too. Did you render with the standard Advanced Render and GI?

Might try soften the shadows a bit though. Is it animated too??? Would look even better with a bit of Motion Blue, I daresay...

Awesome one dude! you should do your own take on the race but with your vehicles..i miss cinema 4d and wish i kept it up...but im a Maya convert and well I can never go back I know too much...keep it up

A great way to start is with tutorials. They can be pretty grueling and boring sometimes, but they are worth it because they really give you a boost with the program. I would suggest signing up for the free account on [link] because they have some really amazing video tutorials for beginners. Good luck and if you have any questions just ask!

Ten days, working only about forty-five minutes a day on it. So about 450 minutes or 7.5 hours total.

Well... Having not seen Star Wars very recently at all, I though more, "Is that a weirdly shaped canoe? With, like, thingies attached to it? And eyes? Some sort of futuristic Paperwing? It's very shiney..."

Wow, very cool, very clean mesh, and I love the materials.

Have you heard of the F1 contest? I'll try to find a link, but basically you design a vehicle and render a scene with it and they get judged. Simple, but wicked awesome. You have like months to do it, too, so they all end up really cool. Only problem is it might be Blender-only. I'll check on it.

Looks pretty cool.

If you are going to be showing exhaust, maybe it would be better to blur the intake fans so it looks like they are moving? No sure that can be done with in the app or in postwork.
