Description I still remember the first time I walked this path with you. Now, I'm walking it alone, and it doesn't seem the same.

the soft focus on the foremost tree turns the whole shot into a painting. sets a brushed mood. nice.

Excelent, exclent shot.
The gnarled branches over the road give the whole shot a slightly creepy and almost comforting feel,
Very nice work!

Very cool shot... gives me the impression of a path through troubled times... no end in site but there's nothing to do but continue along hoping it will soon end. I love the use of the infrared. It really adds to the dark feeling in this shot. Nicely done!

Don't know if you remember me or not but awhile back I practically faved your whole gallery heh. :] I see you've done some more extremely nice, and gorgeous photographs since then as well! I'm not usually the type who faves something then walks off without saying anything, so I thought I'd leave a comment and let you know how much I admire your work. (Especially this photo!) I am truly inspired and just downright blown away by your photographs. I admire how each of your photographs seem to just shout out the feelings it expresses and I'll definatly have to be sure to drop by your page more often. (And no I'm not to kill you with flattery lol) I just like to point out amazing work when I see it. Keep up the great work!

Meh.. I'm so jealous.. I've taken about 100 shots of woodland paths and I just can't make the as clear and defined as this. Looks like it should be cold but has a real warmth about it... Great image!

DarknessAndLight In reply to Narkboy [2006-05-22 05:33:15 +0000 UTC]

Thanks alot! Keep working at it, I'm sure you'll get one you like. And don't forget to try using postwork to get the image the way you want it. Sometimes, especially when shooting in the woods where the contrast is so strong, you really need to use the postwork to even things out.

may i ask ... how is this darkroom photo? did you use chemicals to print out your photo? ... or anything? in the dark with red (dim) lights...lol

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DarknessAndLight In reply to RyDoG [2006-05-18 04:51:41 +0000 UTC]

It's under darkroom because the postwork was a digital version of darkroom techniques to get the tones in this. The contrast adjustments would have been done using dodging and burning and maybe a special chemical bath.

HLGEM [2006-05-16 16:18:47 +0000 UTC]

Stunning. I'm usually all about color, so for this to hit me that way is unusal. But it has an emotional impact that is very rare in even good art. I think this hits me so hard because my boyfriend has early stage emphysema and I know that every day we have left together is precious. This shot sums up my feelings exactly. It brought tears to my eyes. Just wonderful work.
